To wonder if there is a correlation between bad school lunches and poor catchment areas?

I'm thinking secondary here so a bit different, but in the rather leafy, middle class (though still state) school I worked at for years, we had a nice canteen, knives and forks and proper cooked meals, salads, puddings, as well as toast and sandwiches.

Where I now work, in a less salubrious area shall we say, the offerings are slices of pizza, baguettes and fries. EVERYTHING is beige.

All the places I work follow roughly along this theme. So I'm wondering if this is true for everywhere?
