I agreed to two showers. They've put in ONE small crappy one (size of my palm!). Just had my first shower now and detest it.

It's fitted to the bath and has none of its own settings. The water was either scolding or freezing. No happy medium. It even fall at one point (it's just an attachment and not even a shower!!!!!)

ClaudiaWankleman Sat 13-May-17 13:00:09

Why have they done something you didn't agree to?

RadgePacket Sat 13-May-17 13:01:05

That's what I thought I was getting and yet I've ended up with just the attachment sad

ShowMePotatoSalad Sat 13-May-17 13:02:00

But if you asked for two did you not say "no you've only put one in - we agreed on two" and then got them to do it?

ShowMePotatoSalad Sat 13-May-17 13:02:42

Oh this is gonna be a good thread, I can feel it in me waters

Why do you need two showers? Didn't you supervise your workmen?

RadgePacket Sat 13-May-17 13:08:18

I like having an attachment so that I don't have to get my hair wet. Work overran and I was off the last week so couldn't supervise.

So call them back to redo it as agreed. End of problem.

Who is 'they'?
Plumber you found yourself?
Builder of a new build?
Builder of an extension project?
Mate from round the corner who said they could fit a new shower, or two, on the cheap?

At what point did you inspect the shower and tell them it wasn't what you were expecting? What was their reply?

Is it a rented property and the landlord is paying? This is the only reason I can think of that someone would've have already gone apeshit at the contractors.

RadgePacket Sat 13-May-17 13:12:25

No I own the property outright. I've messaged him now and he's said to call him.

We need details and context but in the mean time I suggest we enjoy this thread until it mysteriously disappears grin

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross Sat 13-May-17 13:14:44

So you came on here to complain about your new bathroom before contacting the person who installed the shower to ask them WTF?

blueskyinmarch Sat 13-May-17 13:15:12

Did you show the plumber what you wanted and he bought it or did you buy it and they haven’t fitted what you bought properly?

HappyFlappy Sat 13-May-17 13:15:22

<settles down with cup of tea and packet of hob-nobs, and waits hopefully for a diagram>

blueskyinmarch Sat 13-May-17 13:15:32

I am sure it can be fixed.

Mummyoflittledragon Sat 13-May-17 13:17:22

You've asked for a separate shower feed and they've used shower mixer taps, that correct? If it's all tiled in and this is the case, they're going to have to remove the tiles to make a hole for the additional plumbing. This seems like a big misunderstanding if it is the case as they would have fitted any pipe work before fitting the bath so it wouldn't have been a case of not supervising the last little bit. Have you paid them?

Mummyoflittledragon Sat 13-May-17 13:19:19

The picture is a waterfall shower head btw with a shower attachment. Why didn't you choose what you wanted from pictures or buy it yourself?

AnarchyKitty Sat 13-May-17 13:39:59

Ohh, I'd like a double shower.🚿🚿

callmeadoctor Sat 13-May-17 13:49:10

I would normally expect to purchase my own shower?

EpoxyResin Sat 13-May-17 13:52:58

Yeah, if everything's all tiled in you have a problem...

Siwdmae Sat 13-May-17 13:57:07

If you wanted a power shower separate from the taps, you would need a pump installed. If you had the items and were clear with the plumber, I don't see how he could fuck it up so badly. Has the tiling been done yet?

EpoxyResin Sat 13-May-17 14:06:00

I don't get how this could have happened either. Did your installer also source your suite and install it without you having seen it?

LedaP Sat 13-May-17 14:08:01

You asked for a shower fitting and just got a shower attachment instead?

And only noticed when you got in it?
