AIBU?

AIBU to think I'm the only person who can see a shit stain in this house?

Honestly I am the only person who walks into a toilet sees a shit stain down the pan and deals with it. I am also the only person who shits, flushes (with the lid down) and then checks to make sure all is well.

AIBU to think this is just normal adult behaviour? You poo and you check, no? Or are you all just taking a dump, flushing and walking, leaving it for the next visitor to see what youve left behind?

YANBU. Really not.

But, I must confess, I read your thread title slightly incorrectly. I opened the thread expecting to see a link to a property on Rightmove with some seriously dodgy photos Grin.

Pmsl, sorry, I'm just so pissed off that I am the designated shit remover when there are other grown adults in this house who are perfectly capable of using their eyes.

Yanbu.

I have told dh several times that toilets need proper cleaning and that all shit and piss needs to be cleaned up.

I muse about how nice it must be to use a clean toilet without having to clean it yourself.

3 sons and a dp, I don't think any of them have ever scrubbed the toilet, ever. It is always me, without fail, scrubbing shit off the toilet.

I have the same magical powers in my house. There are six of us and I appear to clean everyone's skid marks. Gives me the rage

Yep, I'm from a shit household myself. There's always something left in the toilet. Whether it's skids, poo coloured water(?!) or the actual poo itself Hmm.

also expecting a right move link lol!

do does this all the god damn time. I am forever asking him to clean his 'skidders'. He still hasn't got the hang of it.

I sometimes use cistern blocks and learnt myself recently these can mask things though Blush

Disgusting, if you shit you clean it. If I left my shit in the toilet my DW would do me some serious damage and all you ladies on here would give her an alibi If anyone makes a mess then they should clean it up.
I do admit that like others I opened the thread expecting to see a link to a property on Rightmove with some seriously dodgy photos

and me..... idem shit stains, alhtough as a variation on the theme, if DH finds one he screams the place down (despite being perfectly capable of a) being the offender and b) cleaning it up himself).
I wish everyone would clean up after themseves, but I do appreciate that sometimes accidents happen.

Yup, I was expecting a link to rightmove as well!

For many years I was the only one who cleaned the shit in our house/made sure I didn't leave any nasty surprises for the next user.

It seems suddenly overnight my DH and son have decided they are very capable. I didn't even nag them!

My mum started a few years ago making visits every few weeks and she loves to clean.
I've been laid up for 18 months so can't do much in the way of housework.
It appears they were forced into cleaning up their own skid marks because they couldn't leave them there for my mum to see. (Yes she cleans my toilets. Says she enjoys it.....)

Would have been nice to get that level of respect from them but hey...what ever works.

Ugh this is a serious problem in this house. Especially on a weekend when we have an extra kids here (9, 12 and 14...). Some of them don't bother flushing at all. One of them feels the need to stuff the loo with toilet roll BEFORE shitting then obviously the loo gets blocked and theres just a giant shite ontop of a wad of loo roll. I have started really kicking off about it now actually as I have asked politely for a long time and nothing changes

Every time I see a skid in the toilet I call everyone and say "ok, who was last in?" Cue some argument. Then I say "well, it wasn't me so whoever was last in cleans this up". Cue protests from the last person in there that it was already like it.

So I enforced a rule that every time I found the toilet messy I would haul in the last person to use it and they would clean it. In turn, if they found it messy, if they didn't haul in the last person before them to clean it, they would become liable for the cleaning.

It took a few times but worked amazingly well. Now I often hear cries of "who was in here last?" when someone enters the loo.

It was always DH who left it messy, we found, and never the DDs (there's a surprise). Before this rule he would wriggle out of it and say it wasn't him. Since being constantly inconveniently called back to clean it, he's got much better at leaving it clean in the first place.

For all of you cleaning up shit stains, don't do it! Find whoever did it, no matter how tough this is, and make them clean it.

Thing is I know it is DP and the kids are only 4 and 1, so whilst the last shit stain was caused by the 4 year old, DP was in there dealing with him and wiping his bum so to my mind that should also mean dieting the toilet.

He is actually really really good in every other regard. He just shuts, puts the toilet seat down, flushes, washes his hands and walks away. To his mind the poo has gone - accept it hasn't Hmm.

Bit trickier if you have young children, I must admit. I have teens but I wouldn't have wanted them wielding the toilet duck at age four Grin. Just keep making your DP come back and sort it if it was his responsibility.

Yanbu and I was considering posting an aibu on this very topic. Drives me mad. It's a total lack of respect really if you think about it. 'oh someone else will/should clean up my '
