Help. If you were a three year old, where would you hide £100??

MIL came on Friday, stayed, and went back home this afternoon. She's just now called to say that she has discovered herself £100 lighter (five £20 notes). Apparently she left said notes on a low shelf where toddler had easy access FFS. She swears she has searched all her own possessions from top to bottom and can't find the bloody money. So, where might you put £100 if you were three??

Any shoe box
Under the bed

Bedside cupboard drawer
Under a bedside cupboard

Hold on. She left £100 where?

AntigoneJones · 23/04/2017 18:55

down the side of the sofa.
Under pillow.
In sock drawer.

You might suggest MIL looks in these places too...Hmm is she 100 per cent sure?

Stuck16 · 23/04/2017 18:55

Inside shoes, any bags that were nearby, toy kitchen, sofa cushions, any toy vehicles (my 3 year olds current hiding place is in a fire engine side panel)
Could they have fallen off the shelf and be under some toys?

CointreauVersial · 23/04/2017 18:55

In the bin.
In the dolls house.

These were the two "hiding" locations of choice for DD1 at that age.

Trifleorbust · 23/04/2017 18:55

And if I was a three year old I might eat, flush or bury it.

Justanothernameonthepage · 23/04/2017 18:55

My DS has posted money down the back of shelves. Put it in shoes/wellies. Tidied it away with books and colouring supplies. Oh and down radiators (or as he called it, the big piggy bank). Oh and once in the bin as he thought it was rubbish

DoItTooJulia · 23/04/2017 18:56

In my pants. Or down the loo.

Oh look it flushes! Just like poo!

Or his till if he's more sophisticated?

Rosieandtim · 23/04/2017 18:56

In the inners of the toilet paper.

In the bin.

In my toybox.

Down the loo.

Where I have found random objects.

Grittyshunts · 23/04/2017 18:56

My 3 year old hides everything in her little car that has a lift up seat. Whenever my phone or keys are missing they're in there. Good luck Confused

befuddledgardener · 23/04/2017 18:56

Bin or flush.

Silly granny!

Justanothernameonthepage · 23/04/2017 18:56

Maybe give her a fiver and see where she hides it?

Emmageddon · 23/04/2017 18:56

Does toddler have his/her own bag? It'll be in there.

froofroomcgoo · 23/04/2017 18:57

My little brother once slotted them through the gaps in our sanded and varnished floorboards!

Rosieandtim · 23/04/2017 18:57

In the toy bin lorry.

Itsallamysterytome · 23/04/2017 18:57

Small box 3 yr old keeps their own treasures in.
Pockets of the clothes they were wearing
Toy bags or purses/wallets ( or old ones of yours they carry around)

iMatter · 23/04/2017 18:57

In the bin?

peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/04/2017 18:58

How likely is it that the three year old actually got into the money without anyone noticing? I'd be skeptical.

But to answer your question, my most sensible suggestion is a toy cash register or purse. Otherwise, try all toy boxes, play kitchen cupboards, down the sides of the sofa, pockets, inside books etc. In bed?

I frequently find things I'm looking for inside the toy kettle Hmm and once lost my (switched off) mobile inside the sofa after around eight hours of searching.

Good luck.

ijustwannadance · 23/04/2017 18:58

Can't you ask the child?

Do you have floorboards with gaps big enough to post the notes through?
Toy till or shop?

fedupwithmyself · 23/04/2017 18:58

My often find money in my daughters potty

LurpakIstheOnlyButter · 23/04/2017 18:59

I once found my only key for the front door, after a week. It was inside the tiny quilt of the girls bedroom in the dolls house.

The recycling bin?

Vegansnake · 23/04/2017 18:59

In the DVD player..under the fridge..in a toy till ,or anything toy wise to do with shopping /tills..child's money box

fedupwithmyself · 23/04/2017 18:59

Show your child some notes and then ask them is there anymore in the house etc
