For dinner for adults, left it to another family member to cook for today and this is what they come up with, lunch was scotch eggs I had already made previously.

Well, I've had worse dinners. Who cooked it? DP or DC?

PurpleDaisies Thu 20-Apr-17 21:55:09

I'd still be hungry and it's a bit lacking in veg.

Who cooked it?

It was my dad, gotta live at home right now but doing all the cooking, cleaning, shopping etc, was meant to be a days break for me

Iamastonished Thu 20-Apr-17 22:49:25

Were there any vegetables?

If your dad is cooking regularly, I'd just make sure you've got some frozen veggies in that you can shove in the microwave for a couple of minutes

Iamastonished Thu 20-Apr-17 22:59:40

That would have been enough for me if there had been some vegetables. It sounds rather meagre and boring without vegetables though.

StillHungryy Thu 20-Apr-17 23:04:53

Really? So all day two small scotch eggs ( that you/ I made) and a small pork chop and 2 small potatoes all day?

PurpleDaisies Thu 20-Apr-17 23:06:20

Why couldn't you get yourself something else to eat?

Iamastonished Thu 20-Apr-17 23:06:39

Sorry, I just meant for the evening. I would have had breakfast and lunch as well though.

Why did you have so little to eat? Was there nothing else in the house? Could you not go shopping?

Ameliablue Thu 20-Apr-17 23:07:01

Needs veg.

kikicrystalripple Thu 20-Apr-17 23:07:30

Is there any reason you couldn't have made some food for yourself if not full? I'm not a big eater and I wouldn't have ate pork chops anyway but that's by the by.

Bluntness100 Thu 20-Apr-17 23:08:49

I don't understand , you live there, so if it's not enough, just get something else or have a word with him as he is there is very different to being a guest

chastenedButStillSmiling Thu 20-Apr-17 23:09:05

I'm eating twiglets as I read this. Anyone want one?

saoirse31 Thu 20-Apr-17 23:09:40

So why wouldn't u do some veg... Or get bread and butter? Presumably given that you're living in his house, he managed to feed u or provide resources to feed u for many yrs....give him a break

HermioneJeanGranger Thu 20-Apr-17 23:10:58

I wouldn't say Scotch eggs were lunch either - more a tiny snack!

StillHungryy Thu 20-Apr-17 23:11:13

I did purple as I did for the rest of my family including my dad who when I said I was going to made out it was an incredulous idea, only to end with me making him something as well. But that's part of the point it was meant as a day for me to relax but on the times ive tried this kind of passive aggressive behaviour ( where he knows I'll have to take over) comes about.

saoirse31 Thu 20-Apr-17 23:15:19

Wow... Making food for u is passive aggressive behaviour? Or was it his incredulity that was pa? Not clear from yr post.

Anyway, I imagine only solution is to move

Ameliablue Thu 20-Apr-17 23:16:48

How old is your dad?

PurpleDaisies Thu 20-Apr-17 23:17:13

Do you think he's deliberately under catering?

Pallisers Thu 20-Apr-17 23:20:17

needs veg. But I can't imagine stressing that much about one dinner.

I presume there is other shit going on with you and your dad? If it is his house you are living in, not sure how much you can do about it. Well if you are living there at his request, you could sit down with him and say "lets agree some groundrules'. But if you are living there to facilitate you, not sure you can tell him to change.

elephantoverthehill Thu 20-Apr-17 23:20:17

purple sprouting?

PurpleDaisies Thu 20-Apr-17 23:21:30

I don't understand elephanf.
