AIBU?

to think having sex on the sofa is gross?

Our two year old sleeps in our bed. This is soon to change as I'm pregnant but in the meantime, every night without fail DP is wink wink nudge nudging me about coming down to shag on the sofa after I put her to bed. AIBU to think it's a bit grim? It's a black fabric sofa. Our DC sit and eat on it.

So as not to be accused of drip feeding, I don't mean we shouldn't have sex until she moves to her own bed. We often do during the day when she naps in her pushchair while her siblings are at school or in the morning at weekends if she's off downstairs with her siblings. But on the sofa just feels wrong and unhygienic.

I prefer the kitchen table.
(note to self- ensure marmalade jar is removed before doing the deed in future)

Is it the sex you don't want? Because doing it on the sofa is traditional. Everyone does that. Oh yes.

There's not a surface in my house i haven't "done it" on.

It might be a bit uncomfortable, if your sofa isn't very large!

If you get the kids to eat at the table, you can stop worrying about food crumbs up your fanjo.

Or is that not what you meant? Confused

Compromise, and do it on the floor in front of the sofa.

No the living room floor is better. Sofas are too small ime. Make sure you put plenty of blankets down first though or you end up with carpet burn on your back and it hurts.

But for hygiene, children should eat at the table.

It's not the sofa that shocks me, it's the every night without fail
Where do you find the energy?

Put a blanket down.

It's not all that comfortable though, in my experience Wink

Sofa is better than the bed for me. No idea why...

Grin no issues with sofa sex here. Unclench and have fun!
Seriously though, if you don't feel comfortable do it elsewhere. Put a blanket on the floor of the living room.

We cosleep with our 2.5 year old. I can't remember the last time we had sex in a bed. It's usually the living room floor tbh!

So do you only have sex in your bed then?

ilikepinacoladas · 15/04/2017 22:37

But if you are worried about your children sitting somewhere you have had sex are you not worried about them (the 2yr old) sleeping where you have had sex?

We didn't shag in the bedroom for years when the kids were small

Always ate at the dining table though, tut.

Kids eating on the sofa is way less hygenic and more gross than shagging on it.

But you DD can sleep in your bed?! do you immediately change the sheets after you've had sex during the day?
