About traffic jams

Increasingly I am feeling that I don't wish to go on journeys that take me out of my immediate area due to the sheer volume of people on the roads (and at the venue.)

I has been invited to Leeds for Sunday and Monday but I am concerned the journey will take so very long!

Traffic jams are so infuriating but you can't let that stop you from going out.

I would rather drive during rush hour because the majority of people driving at that time know where they are going. So many times I have been driving in the middle of the day and been cut up or nearly crashed into because people don't know where they are going so move erratically. Infuriating!!!

Shame to miss out on things because you don't want to spend a bit more time on the road?
Use Google maps or similar and it'll plot you the quickest route which will help avoid a lot of it. Leave early too, traffic will be pretty crappy on both days.

I hate traffic jams. If I have to travel at peak times like bank holidays I will get up stupidly early and leave the house at 6 am. It works but you have to plan how you are going to spend your spare time when you arrive somewhere hours too early

Whereish are you coming from? I don't think the traffic will be too bad on Sunday.

Thanks! The problem is my silly job at the moment has me doing hardly any hours but six days a week - so I'm doing thirty six hours over an extended week if that makes sense Hmm and I start work at 7 pm.

So I have to get back for then. Train is possible but its ruinously expensive when taxis at either end are factored in.

I just feel like everywhere is so very crowded all of the time.

Oh dear OP , SW to Leeds is a horrible journey. I live a wee bit south of Leeds (M1 J39) and DM lives in Somerset (M5 J23 + 45 mins). Its a very busy route on bank holidays, although now slightly improved by the lovely Gloucester services! Our journey can take anywhere between 4 and 9 hours depending on road works and traffic!
