AIBU to think that some people just don't get it? It's been given some rubbish reviews in the press but it is bloody brilliant! Grin Grin Grin
Do you have to be in your 40"s & from up North to understand the jokes, radio adverts, music, relationships?

It's brilliant! At the end of last nights episode I was smiling so much! Think its music is my generation! I'm trying not to watch next episode on iPlayer to pace myself!

I've never seen this before and I normally can't stand Peter Kay but I really enjoyed it last night. I am 41 and live up North, from Scotland originally so not sure if that counts?!

Loved it, especially the special guest! I think Peter Kay is such a perfectionist he wouldn't let any old dross out. No, you don't have to be from the north to get it, it's not that north-centric.

I bloody love it. It's such a feel good program and I recognise all the areas it's filmed in as I live in greater manchester.

I think I'm the right generation too! He's dug up some music hasn't he?
So funny! The crap adverts, the '80s music, the mundane conversation!
It's brilliant! 😂

I loved it -I watched all 4 episodes on iPlayer and I'm as south east as they come. I find it really comforting! Won't give away the end obviously but I desperately want more now and it not to be the end!

I love it.

But then I am middle aged, northern and still refer to the big light.

Dh and I loved it too and we are Southerners.

Love all the little details - daft road signs, radio adverts etc - and the music is just nostalgic cheese perfection!

We were both grinning like idiots right back at PK as he drove off at the end of the new episode last night Smile

Another fan here!
We all watched it...me, dh, and 3 teen kids.

It's such a different concept. It's so normal. And I think that's what makes it charming.

I was grinning so hard at the end.....Grin

It goes back to early Peter Kay humour it is warm and fuzzy with a hint of sarcasim Did you all see the sign for the Shaun Ryder rehab centre Grin

JamesDelaneysHat · 12/04/2017 09:28

Yes the Shaun Ryder rehab centre sign made me laugh.

Peter kay is so much better in this than any time I've seen him interviewed or turn up on live shows (X factor or whatever one it was) when he's just sort of weird in a bad way!

I really hate Peter Kay with a passion. He's unfunny and just annoying.

But this show is really brilliant. It's a really feel-good programme, genuinely warm and subtly observed. Like Early Doors or The Royle Family.

I'm in my 30s, from the Midlands originally, now living in Yorkshire. I don't think it's specific to the north or people in their 40s.

I've been listening to Hear Say this morning because of this programme. Blush

Love it, absolutely love it! DW and I watched the first series in one go on the iPlayer last Xmas and adored it.

The background commentary from the Forever FM DJ is utterly hilarious, and wee fantasy scenes are lovely.

I love it! Although I do spend a lot of time working out where they are driving.

I'm a Manc displaced in the SW so I find it comforting to see familiar places.
