AIBU to think M&S designers are on glue?

WTF is this? I genuinely can't understand how they came up with this idea? Did they have a bunch of yellow t shirts lurking in the stock room and a bored work experience student who was a sea cadet?

Late April fool?

Oh gosh that's awful.

watchoutformybutt Sun 09-Apr-17 18:38:18

And it's low in stock!! Who is buying that?

I have a voucher to speaks and I can't find a single thing I want to buy. I'll end up frittering it on crisps again.

PastysPrincess Sun 09-Apr-17 18:39:02

There was a similar albeit white one in the Next sale. Horrible.

Buy the Percy pigs. Have some for me.

Questioningeverything Sun 09-Apr-17 18:39:49

Top looks bloody awful

GeillisTheWitch Sun 09-Apr-17 18:39:57

The eyelet stringy look must be fashionable, primark was full of t-shirts similar to that the other day but with thinner strings and on both sides of the top.

AtSea1979 Sun 09-Apr-17 18:40:58

Use the voucher on underwear and work trousers!

GeillisTheWitch Sun 09-Apr-17 18:41:34

Kind of like this.

leccybill Sun 09-Apr-17 18:44:07

Utterly dreadful.

Relative of mine yesterday was wearing jeans with eyelet holes, laced up the entire length of the jeans, I couldn't stop looking at them. Horrible.

CoffeeAndOranges Sun 09-Apr-17 18:44:17

Erm... I er... I quite like it blush. I love orange (suits my gingery pale complexion) and I am partial to a bit of nautical silliness. Not sure how it would wash, mind - I can imagine the rope would take ages to dry!

officerhinrika Sun 09-Apr-17 18:48:18

It's horrible. I'm a bit worried now, I was going to give my relentlessly practical sister M&S vouchers for her birthday next week. I suppose I could write a label saying new knicker money or something😀

CigarsofthePharoahs Sun 09-Apr-17 18:49:59

I'm getting old.
My first thought was "that'll be terrible to wash"
It is ugly.

GlitterGlue Sun 09-Apr-17 18:51:13

Bloody hell! Skirt made from bacofoil, anyone? I suppose it could be handy to have in, just in case you ever had to rustle up and emergency Darlek costume.

Aeroflotgirl Sun 09-Apr-17 18:51:26

I think M&S are trying to look funky and young.

Aeroflotgirl Sun 09-Apr-17 18:52:03

Glitter that is awful shock, who would wear that shock

MetalLaLa Sun 09-Apr-17 18:55:39

I never set foot in M&S but must admit that when I see a thread on MN about them I secretly get excited to see what new clothing horrors await my eyes when I open one. I can't be the only person and this already hasn't disappointed me with the tshirt made from a lifeboat.

RhiWrites Sun 09-Apr-17 18:57:36

It was last season's micro trend according to this:

Doodlebug5 Sun 09-Apr-17 19:04:25

I quite like it too... it would suit me.. that colour always does

CoffeeAndOranges Sun 09-Apr-17 19:06:24

Okay yeah that skirt is horrible!

I have no sense of fashion though...

HappCatt Sun 09-Apr-17 19:06:35

My DDs and I was through Marks just for the lol's. We point and laugh and ask why? I think they must have two departments who design the cloths, the first department designs the normal clothes which they the send to the second department who Marks and Spencer'fy it by adding very random details such as a wacky frill here or a crazy ruffle there (basically by making it ugly) . It's madness.

Knickers, bras, Jammie's and sportswear are all ok but other than that it's dire.

OP, you are not being unreasonable.

Helenluvsrob Sun 09-Apr-17 19:08:01

I got a voucher too. I was 😞Till I realised they do wine and gin ....😄
