AIBU?

Just had war with my next door neighbour.

I posted a thread here last week about Neighbours dogs coming into my garden- shifting everywhere, harassing my two and digging up flower beds.

General consensus was to board up the hole in the fence between our own gardens- which I did do. I also posted a receipt from the garden last weekend from the plants I had brought that her dogs dug up just hours after I planted them with a note explaining that as they had damaged my garden, could she please drop the cash in to go and replace the plants.

Neighbour returned from holiday last night and nothing was said. Went out this morning with the DC and have come back to find the fence panel has been taken out- so a) they have entered my property without permission as it was nailed in from my side (yes I probably shouldn't leave the gate unlocked) and b) have damaged something else of mine. Dogs have been in the garden again as well as DD stood in a dog shit on the patio.

Anyway went and knocked on neighbours door and produced her with the receipt for the fence panel as well. She ranted and raved at me, spat in my face and slammed the door in my face.

She has now gone out and left her mutts dogs in the garden so no doubt we will get a visit again from them this afternoon.

I should of added earlier in the thread- I asked neighbour many times to repair the fence and she refused.

Phone the police. . She assaulted you. . Spitting is a serious matter - bodily fluids etc. . Urgh dirty scruff bag. . .

Go and nail the fence panel back up and lock your gate

Keep the dogs in your yard and call animal control (not sure if that's a thing here)
Her behaviour is completely unacceptable!!!

YANBU but if she is someone who rants and raves and spits at people, you will never get her to do what you want.

I would just steer clear of her, put up a more robust fence and keep the garden gate locked.

Why would she remove the fence panel?! That makes no sense. I would call 101 coz spitting is assault.

That is disgusting. I have asshole neighbours with a dog as well. Take a look at this.

Pretty sure it says to report to police. Hope it helps

Why would they take the panel out again? They are bonkers. They should keep their dogs in their garden, it's their responsibility.

I would call the police for the spitting.

Leave your gate open whenever you're not using the garden. I bet she'll soon sort it when her dogs disappear every time she lets them out.

Report her for the spitting and trespassing.

You could consider a civil case if you want compensation for your damaged plants etc. Probably not worth it though.

Police and dog warden. She's fucking mental. Can't remember what you said on other thread regarding if houses are owned/rented.

Report
Dollyparton3 · 07/04/2017 13:27

I'd be inclined to lay something down near the gap in the fence that would be trampled back into their house later.

But seriously, call the police, the whole situation is unnaceptable and your neighbour sounds unhinged

If the dogs come into your garden I would take them down to the nearest rspca/ rescue centre. I would leave your gate open and go out for the day and she can assume they've run off. You have no responsibility to keep your garden dog secure as you dont have dogs.

Drop the dogs at the vets as strays. And call the dog warden. She will have to pay to get them back.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 07/04/2017 13:32

Police. Press charges. She sounds like scum of the earth.
Then phone the dog warden and tell them about dogs being allowed to wander your neighbour hood on a regular basis. Take photos of the dogs on your land and her property if possible.

Report
Teabagtits · 07/04/2017 13:33

And throw the shit back over the fence!

Report
MycatsaPirate · 07/04/2017 13:34

Police definitely. That's vile.

She sounds bloody awful.

I'd wait until she goes out and then when her dogs come in the garden, put them in my car and take them to the RSPCA and say they were found wandering loose in the road.

And repeat every time it happens.

FataliePorkman · 07/04/2017 13:37

I own- I think she rents from what I was told by another neighbour.

The little shits are back in my garden running around like lunatics. My two are sat in the patio door looking very sorry for themselves.

Tempted to ring the police and dog warden but fear it will make the situation worse

Report this to the Police. Try to retain some of the spit for DNA purposes.

Report
RockyBird · 07/04/2017 13:40

Drop the dogs off 30 miles away. only joking

If they harm your dogs - or you - you will regret not ringing the police I feel. .
