AIBU?

To totally feel like TODAY I got my shit together?

We're "only" 6 months in with ds1. But today...

have managed to walk 3 miles to and from antenatal yoga with DS in the ergo carrier. My first real exercise since I was 38 weeks preggers.

I breastfed him while walking to the class, in the carrier.

DS was an angel all through the yoga class.

He fell asleep immediately on leaving and I'd still asleep on my chest in the carrier now.

He's had all his scheduled naps.

And I've managed to neck a flat white. And send some coherent emails to the blacksmith who's making our fireguard.

This isn't even a stealthy boast. It's an out and out crowing. Today is the first day in WEEKS I've felt like a successful mother AND person-I-was-pre-baby.

Imagine it will all fall apart this afternoon- but AIBU to really fucking love this moment of feeling competent... even... in control????

Enjoy every triumph as next month/ week or next day could Be different!

I thoughts I had nailed having a baby until we hit 12 months and then it got hard. Becoming good again finally at 27months '

Haha!!! I am under NO illusions... just basking in the warmth of my own smuggery for a mo.

I'll be back next week asking aibu to see if I can get drs to put DS back into my uterus where caring for him was infinitely easier Grin

Those are great days!Well done you!

But i found that the older they get even when you have crappy days when nothing goes to any sort of plan, it's a lot less terrifying / stressful than it is when they're tiny!

Go you! DS is 6.5 years old and I still don't feel like I've got my stuff together some days. Parenting is a funny ole thing.

Yesterday was good - up, showered, fed and ready by 9.45 for a 10am easter gymnastics session. I then done the ironing, folding stuff, changed the beds, tidied up, packed hospital bags and went shopping. We had our shit together.

Today - it's after 2pm. I've managed to scrape my hair in to a pony, put joggies and a vest top on and got DS washed and dressed. We've not had lunch and he has no one to play with (I teach so we're at home, his friends are at relatives and sitters). We don't have our shit together today.

Shall we get reversible tshirts?

On one side: TODAY i have my shit together

Reverse: today I do NOT have my shit together

Reckon they'd knock those "mother" sweaters out the park!
