They really are yet get hardly any recognition in the biscuit world. Everyone's too busy arguing over whether a jaffa cake is a cake or a biscuit and 1001 ways to.eat a digestive.

And there sits the humble fruit shortcake, silently in all its chewy, sugary glory. Understated yet steadfast and reliable. I mean it's a reliable fact that if I get my hands on a pack that pack will fall into my gob and satisfys whatever was ailing my need to reach for the biscuits.

Anyways, AITOFSF ?? (( am I the only fruit shortcake fan ))

YABU. Fruit has no place anywhere near a biscuit.

Are we talking "squashed fly biscuits"?

If so, then I haven't eaten one since I went wheat free over a decade ago.
One of my favourites along with Abbey Crunch and Hobnobs.

Boy am I craving a packet now. Sad

No fruit in biscuits?! What about garibaldis and fig rolls? Shock all the more for me

Peace stop being a tease.
Fig rolls (give hem to me now & Garibaldi too please.)

Fig rolls aren't proper biscuits. People wouldn't try and dunk them in their tea... Would they?

Report
peaceloveandbiscuits · 03/04/2017 23:46

You're not about to suggest a fig roll is a cake, are you?

Fruit + biscuits = healthy snack.
Garibaldis and fruit shorcakes are lush. Fig rolls heavenly.

HelsinkiLights · 03/04/2017 23:48

Fig rolls taste better dunked in coffee rather than in tea.

Report
maras2 · 03/04/2017 23:48

I love them but they're not hardy enough to dunk.
Brew

NotSoEagerBeaver · 03/04/2017 23:49

I may just be a walking contradiction. I would dunk and suck a Twirl in a brew - yelp!

Are we talking about the strawberry shortcake with lashings of cream and fresh strawberries too? If so YAdefinitelyNBU they are amazing. If you are talking about some other strawberry shortcake please describe it so that I can visualise and judge its yumminess Grin

I don't think you can beat a fresh, warm homemade peanut butter and white chocolate cookie, or a lemon and white chocolate one Grin

Thank you peaceloveandbiscuits I was thinking a strawberry shortcake was shortbread with cream and strawberries stacked up. Those biscuits look tasty but I fewer they may be disappointing in reality Grin
