To hate the phrase love you to the moon and back?
(176 Posts)Just find it irritating
Why?
To the moon and back is a measure of distance.
Love is not measured in distance.
YANBU
I find ones about the running up click habits of mice worse.
It's almost as irritating as the newly-ubiquitous 'I love the bones of her'.
Yep it's just another of those annoying grandiose statements that mean nothing.
Twee cliched bollocks.
It's sick making.
As is 'making memories'
Its better than 'Love you to death' - I mean, is that meant to be a good thing?
Ha ha
Yanbu.
I hate 'love you lots like jelly tots'. Fucking pisses me off so much.
I thought that the phrase came from the book about the rabbits.
It's not even that far - about 477000 miles. The Proclaimers must have walked further than that by now.
The stoic I don't know why I just do. It's just a bit sickly I guess.
It's from a childrens book isn't it, but yes icringe a bit when I read it, only ever see it on Facebook tho !
Donald - YES! Me too! Mil says it to DD all the time and I feel guilty for how much it grates on me. It makes NO SENSE!
Its from the story about the daddy nut brown hare and the baby nut brown hare. Its a lovely story :P
Totally agree! I hate it so much , but now I've read the other replies I'm wondering I hate it?!? Can't quite put my finger on why it bothers me so much!!
Wow I think I'll go back to my unicorns and rainbows ..and r from this thread. Its an expression of love ! Get a grip!

I hate the phrase 'get a grip'.
my DD says 'love you to pluto' and back. That's 4.67 billion miles so I'll take that.
