AIBU?

To be annoyed at being woken up at 4:30am to get food out of the freezer...

And then for that person to put that food back!

Surely it's not just me? Especially when they've supposedly looked and there was 3-4 joints, different kind of chops, mince, then stuff like burgers/ sausages from the butchers, even cooked meat?!?!

No alcohol involved either!

We go to bed late, and I am generally up until now and later due to sleeping / anxiety issues but I got off to sleep at a semi reasonable time (for me) and my door was open so they could see I was. TBH I don't know why they were up so late, but went to bed after I got the food out

No literally to get meat out of the freezer so we had something tomorrow and no alcohol, but decided my choice wasn't good enough so put it back and went to bed

It's very, very thoughtless. I've had to train my husband to never, ever wake me unless it's an emergency.

If I have broken sleep, then the next day I am irritable and have a bad back.

He used to talk to me when he came to bed!!

Putting lights on, bumbling about....chatting!

I went nuts basically as it's rude and selfish.

It's not regular I'm normally awake and meats normally out, but because I was asleep I got annoyed...and I'm still awake

I don't understand why you had to be woken? Is the freezer on some kind of fingerprint-based lock so that it won't open for anyone except you? Why couldn't person get food out themselves?

I'm really really lost here OP, why does anyone have to get meat out of a freezer at 0430am? Did you suddenly remember you needed to thaw a 20lb turkey for Sunday dinner?

It was my DF, and he woke me up because it was either me or him cooking dinner tomorrow and he couldn't find any meat in a freezer literally full of meat part of me says it was so he could say I got it out so it's down to me but then decided he didn't want what I chose... no idea if He stayed awa, realised and got me up straight away or if he did actually look.

Id be saying 'either take another look and find it or I suppose you're buying take out tomorrow' then going back to sleep.

I'm bewildered on so many levels.

Waking someone up to ask them a question? Not remotely acceptable.

4.30am is early, not late. When do you sleep? I can't function very well when I see 4.30am.

Maybe he should consider that he could take a very thorough look through the freezer from the inside. As a bonus you'd get a great night's sleep.

Tbh I often sleep between 6-9am waking up between 12-3pm. Unless I have something I need to be up for ( for example taking my parents to appointments, food shopping, cooking, cleaning etc) then I get sometimes an hours sleep on the bad days. My anxiety has completely wrecked me so I can hardly leave the house so no work to worry about but there's so much stupid shit in this house that doesn't help, tbh need to find a new counsellor but that's another thread.

I'd be anxious too, if I had someone waking me up to look for meat in the freezer!

Sounds like a tricky situation. As a household, do you all sleep like that? I'd get confused, I think.

Has your DF also switched his body clock?

I sleep 10pm to 6 am. Going by your timescales it would be like dp asking me at 8 pm to look for meat.

Not an unreasonable time. But if I'm in bed asleep at 8 pm I'd be saying fuck off and look for yourself.

What time are you planning on eating this meat tomorrow? Has your entire life clock shifted? Why has it? Does your DF work nights? So many questions.

But basic point is that noone should wake another person for anything short of an emergency. No matter how much you like meat it is never an emergency.
