Aibu to just sit amazed at this. All those years ago - what would the odds have been on this coming to pass?

Why is it so 'amazing'? Confused

Why is it not bizarre, "amazing", totally out of nowhere?

You only just noticed?

It's not bizarre, amazing or totally out of nowhere.

He's always been into cars, was frequently on the show and had the fastest time round the track.

And co-presented the last series. Been on another planet op?!

It's a bit rubbish isn't it?

Not remotely bizarre, he's big into cars and supported the last series with the awful Evans. Now getting a chance to front it with support (although currently with some ham fisted intros).... Don't see the problem. He is way better than shouty evans and I can smack who I like Clarkson!

Why is it amazing?

He's huge in Asia and Top Gear is a big export. It makes sense for both parties.

But i just happen to be watching it right now. You are all just so world weary with life i guess. "OMG, there's a cat on TV reading the 9 O'clock news!" - jaded person "god, so what - unless it's a transvestite Harvard educated orangutan, i'm not interested!"

All the hoohah over the departure of the TG3, the short-lived reign of Chris Evans and you notice Joey is reading a script in a warehouse now?

I'm a little concerned that you seem to find this so amazing, OP, despite evidence to the contrary.

I'm enjoying this series. Yes it's not clarkson, may and Hammond but they took a good few series to bed in together. Top Gear this series has had a lot of exclusive first show of new models so the industry is still with 'Top Gear' as being the biggest motoring show. I think it will just get better and better, loving Matt in it meantime though.

What's the evidence to the contrary? None of you were surprised when Joey joined a long standing mega popuar quintessentially brittish institution? You all saw this coming when he was waddling about the Friends set with a turkey on his noggin?

I'll just repeat my last post since you seem to have missed it.

And i bet when Trump appeared on Prince Of Bel Air and then did The Apprentice - you all knowingly tapped your snozzlrs and predicted he'd be President Trump one day.

The all-time champion is Soubriquet, who apparently didn't realise until a few weeks into May's leadership that Gordon Brown was no longer Prime Minister.

I've known he was doing it for a while, but was still a bit oh my word that's joey when I actually saw it for the first time the other day.

I like him on it, but they other guy who is pretending to be angry the whole time is really fucking annoying.

I didn't know all that Spread and I'm with you Bambam - it's worthy of a double take that "How you doin'?" Joey is now a successor of Jeremy Clarkson.

I'm not warming to him. I didn't watch the Evans' year because I can't stand him. Happy to give it a whirl this year. Matt le Blanc is fundamentally an actor and he doesn't feel journo enough for what is a magazine/entertainment show. The three aren't quite right. Chris Harris knows his stuff and maybe if they let him, Rory and Sabine run riot with Rory as the grown up it might work. Matt shouldn't be on the sofa.

I think what OP is saying is that years back when we were all watching friends, if I'd said "ooh that joey, he's gonna present top gear one day", you'd all have said that was very unlikely. And here we are.

Clearly she is aware that he's been presenting top gear for a while.
