To think many of these parents insisting on daily baths.....

....might want to think about the amount of bleach they throw around their houses or the factory farm fed animal products they feed their kids.

Not saying that if you do one, you do the other but rather that people obsess about relatively (mostly) harmless dirt but yet can be indifferent to other 'pollutants' (for want of a better word) that are carelessly thrown at themselves and their families and are a lot more harmful than mud, sand or microscopic particles of dog poo left by some heinous person who didn't remove their shoes in the house!

Or just wash your kids as often as you feel you need to and don't obsess over what other people do, ffs.

Lifeisgreat2 · 29/03/2017 22:59

How often do you shower?

ThePiglet59 · 29/03/2017 22:59

I like a bit of bleach.
Who wants to be grubby and smelly?

SprogletsMum · 29/03/2017 23:01

I bath my dc most days and rarely use bleach because it smells vile. Can't see the connection?
I hate bathing the dc but they get filthy and it's easier to bath them than wipe them with flannels.

TwatteryFlowers · 29/03/2017 23:02

I can't speak for anyone else but I tend not to bathe in bleach because it's not that great for my skin. I use shower gel though when I have a shower - is that the same thing? ShockConfusedGrin

Out2pasture · 29/03/2017 23:04

I bathed my children nightly for the relaxation and sleep benefits....playing in water with or without soap....no bleach.

ZilphasHatpin · 29/03/2017 23:04

Which animal products are fed with factory farms?

Pumperthepumper · 29/03/2017 23:04

Wtf does this even mean? You are so saying if you do one, you do the other and it's nonsense.

Only1scoop · 29/03/2017 23:05

We all bathe daily but eat organically Smile

TwatteryFlowers · 29/03/2017 23:06

I apologise - I misread your op. Ds does bathe in bleach. Twice daily. Might explain his eczema...

Actually, I'm lying. My dc have a bath every other night. Dd uses soap from Lush and ds uses hydromol because of his eczema.

armpitz · 29/03/2017 23:06

I think what OP is saying is that some parents worry about a tiny bit of dirt whilst not worrying about some of the harmful products their kids eat.

I could have got that all wrong; sorry if so.

paddypants · 29/03/2017 23:06

Not saying people bathe their kids in it. Talking about throwing it over kitchen counters, floors, bathrooms

OP posts:
Astro55 · 29/03/2017 23:06

Bleach is horrible if you have asthma - do we get a prize?

Seriously - kids need a bath - their beds don't need the germs!

Some kids are grubbier than others.

JustFuckingReally · 29/03/2017 23:06

Can I be the first one to ask if you're on glue?

lozzylizzy · 29/03/2017 23:06

The kids have a bath 2/3 times a week the other 4/5 days they have a shower. Too grubby to be wiped. I dont like shit on my carpet.

Only1scoop · 29/03/2017 23:07

No bleach throwing here
Do you sniff it Op?

Haffiana · 29/03/2017 23:09

I wonder why you feel the need to be so defensive? I shower every day. Sometimes twice a day. I assume you don't? Do you feel inferior or something?

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 29/03/2017 23:11

I think that there are far more worrying issues about some children's care than the fact they are bathed daily.

Hmm

Kennington · 29/03/2017 23:11

I give my dd a rinse daily under the shower otherwise her bits go red.
She is also very dusty and sticky at the end of the day so I have probably not brought her up very well.
We eat organically and use white spirit vinegar to clean. Admittedly this now sounds like I am very annoying.

mumofthemonsters808 · 29/03/2017 23:15

I'm presuming you were offended by the previous thread about bathing children nightly. Sorry, you're preaching to the wrong person, we are obsessed with bathing in this house. I couldn't get in bed without one and its part of my kids bedtime routine, I don't really care what anyone else does though. I don't know how this implies I use bleach excessively or what I feed my kids, I'm struggling to follow your reasoning here.

ReasonsToBeModeratelyHappy · 29/03/2017 23:39

Talking about throwing it over kitchen counters, floors, bathrooms

That would be an odd thing to do really - its clearly labelled as hazardous, so I doubt many people throw it everywhere!

Is this based on something you've seen personally? You seem to be angry about the imaginary habits of a group of people you haven't met, based on a lot of odd assumptions.

I bleach the loos at night before bed. Have yet to try throwing it anywhere and found the children were averse to bathing in it.

ExplodedCloud · 29/03/2017 23:47

OP. Do you mean to say people who are obsessed with dirt, hygiene etc and thus bathe their dc every day are more likely to use lots of environmentally unsound bleach to clean their house a lot? But at the same time are feeding their dc processed food containing all sorts of floor scraping?

The first 2 may be true but the thirds a bit of a stretch.

Albadross · 29/03/2017 23:47

I get it - if people knew half the crap that goes in even 'natural' (even uranium is natural!) products and some of the disgusting animal testing that goes on they'd be doing their skin a lot of favours. I'm not advocating not washing but the amount we do and what we use to do it aren't as sanitary as we think.
