Hi all,
I can't believe I missed the call I have been waiting for all day!
To be fair they called at 6.10pm way after I expected a school to call me.
I went for an interview Monday for a TA position,
I missed a call yesterday ( no caller ID ) with a voicemail that I couldn't comprehend so I called the school back to see if it was them, made myself look a twat as the office said " nobody would have called you today; the other interviews take place tomorrow "
Anyway, it's the head who has left me this voicemail and it reads
" Good evening, we have now reached a decision for the job you applied for and I would like to let you know the outcome. It would be wonderful to speak with you so if you could give me a call at your convenience at some point tomorrow between 9am-3pm that would be great. I very much look forward to speaking with you "
I'm so nervous and don't know whether to be positive or not!!!!
His tone is friendly but not giving much away!!
What do you all think?

Unless she's a psychopath, she isn't going to be "very much looking forward to" the "wonderful" experience of telling you that you missed out on the job. Congratulations!

I really hope so!!!

I agree it sounds too positive NOT to be good news! Let us know won't you!

Unless you did something horrible to the head, and they're wanting to twist the knife in a malicious way, that's a very positive message!

Elizabeth1970 Wed 29-Mar-17 22:35:25

😂😂😂 I will let you all know and thank you so much for the positivity!

I think if you hadn't got it he would say so in the message. It'd be a waste of his time to speak to every candidate that didn't get it. A message would suffice.
So hopefully...congratulations! flowers

Hmm - I recently got a similarly worded email asking me when they could call. They were phoning to say I hadn't made the shortlist hmm.

I'd keep an open mind if I were you.

Yeah sorry, I've had similar voicemails asking me to call them and they look forward to speaking to me so they can reject me.

They may leave similar voicemails for everyone they call about anything and everything and could just be an automatic reaction.

Got my fingers crossed I'm wrong though!

I'm about to call so I will post back,
I haven't been able to sleep I've been so nervous!
But I am trying to keep an open mind and not get ahead of myself

Moanyoldcow Thu 30-Mar-17 09:06:42

Aggghhhrrrr he's in a meeting so they will let him know to call me back 😁😁😁

loaferloveforyou Thu 30-Mar-17 09:10:39

Aargh how frustrating!! Hopefully it's a short meeting and you will get a call soon

MuchasSmoochas Thu 30-Mar-17 09:12:41

It's looking good to me. I think it would be the Head who makes the happy calls but someone else would do the sad calls.

Fingers crossed OP

Rossigigi Thu 30-Mar-17 09:12:47

Fingers crossed for you but it sounds positive!!!flowers

MargoChanning Thu 30-Mar-17 09:15:45

Good luck OP!

I was expecting the admin officer wh had been dealing with arranging the interviews and so on to be the one to contact me so I'm surprised it was the head and hoping that's a good indicator!!
Now just worried my current reference won't be great as she is going to hate me leaving her in the lurch ( we only have to give 2 weeks notice so not much time for her to find a replacement! )

Have you practised your calm voice when they ring back?

How many rings will you leave it?

Good luck
