AIBU?

To let dd go to nursery after being sick

Dd (2.5) vomited once this morning when she woke up but has been fine all day. No diarrhea (2 solid poos), no temperature, quite active, and went back to eating/drinking normally within an hour.

She has been a bit tired but still running around all day. AIBU to let her go to nursery tomorrow? Does it sound like a bug?

Kids bounce back quickly but the germs linger. Our school, nursery and my employer all insist 48 hours. Frustrating if you work I know!

If one of the other parents made that choice, two days before your big meeting or birthday, and it turned out they were wrong. Would you be totally cool about it?

Personally I wouldn't but I'm really awfully rule Compliant.

Yes, YWBVU. Kids who get sent back te morning after vomiting are the reason why half a class ends up out of school. Not all kids are sick once then bounce back, though. Any with less than great immune systems or underlying conditions can really suffer from the same bug that made your DD sick once.

And yes, there are conditions, such as migraines, which miht make a child sick once or twice then right as rain, but these tend to manifest most commonly in kids older than nursery age.

I wouldn't. But I do follow the rules. I hardly know anyone who does though.

I wouldn't risk it myself cause of making everyone else ill and being rather rule compliant. Also I'd be even more wary now since my dd who is 2.5 had a sickness bug last month where she threw up, and then went back to normal, eating playing etc. That was until the following day when she was throwing up again. This lasted for almost an entire week, luckily she doesn't go to nursery so it wasn't an issue but left us with a week of being housebound instead.

I'd probably be a shit person and send her in, in those particular circumstances. If I was feeling flush I'd keep her home for the day but send in the next day.

Our nursery says 24 hours after the last time they vomit, so yes i would. I do follow rules though so if they said 48 hours then no i wouldn't.
