Neighbours music

I live in a semi detached house, built in the 80s, and the walls seem ridiculously thin.
Neighbours consistently play music with a heavy bass all day at the weekend and most evenings though not late at night thankfully.
The heavy pounding sound for hours on end really leaves me on edge and in the week when it's on until 9ish makes getting the kids to bed rather tricky.
Have mentioned we can hear it a few times, light heartedly at first in case they didn't realise how much we can hear but the penny that it's disturbing us doesn't seem to have dropped.
We're heading into summer and I'm dreading longer evenings, windows being open and the noise carrying even more.
Guess this is more WWYD than AIBU but I don't know if this a situation I should just put up with because it's not happening gone 11pm or not.

They probably just need to turn the bass off to resolve this.

If you're friendly with them - could you go round when it's happening and ask them to come and listen? Most people don't want to be upsetting their neighbours!

WWID?? I'd start doing the same to them. At 6am. Every day. See how they like it I'm childish like that.

I expect there will be a load of people post soon saying that it's during the day so it's no problem.
However I really do feel your pain. In our last house it was an on going problem and it really does set your nerves on edge.

I would ask them politely to turn it down by 8pm as your children are in bed. If they ignore then I would do as a pp said and play loud music really early!

I've asked them to turn the bass down/off as that's all we can hear and whilst they do it when I'm standing on their doorstep it seems to rise again pretty quickly.
Have also offered for them to come here and hear it for themselves- they always say no need we'll just turn it down.
They also claim they never hear us which I find very hard to believe as my dd2 is like a herd of elephants at times!

I have had an ongoing problem with this and I truly sympathise. I got to the point where I didn't want to come home from work in a Friday as I knew it was all I would hear all weekend. When I raised it nicely with them they were always apologetic and quiet for a day or so but it would quickly come on again. They know it's annoying but they don't care. Basically they are selfish and hints won't work. You need to be very firm and tell them it's driving you mad and to stop or you will call environmental services. Stop being nice, they won't change. Or blast them out at 8am and at least get some satisfaction. There is not a lot you can do except hope they move which mine did. Sorry.
