Crappy week, flat to myself at the moment so sneaking a quiet 10 minutes with some ice cream.

The nutrition labelling describes it as a "pot of ice cream". Surely it is a tub?!

Yes of course it's a tub!!!

YABU for not telling us what flavour ice cream you have.

YANBU to say that ice cream does come in tubs. grin

It depends really. Is the container shaped like a yogurt pot?

I was trying to be tactful out of deference for the poor people who aren't sprawled on the sofa with chocolate around their mouth grin.

It's co-op own Venezuelan chocolate and it's all mine (DP doesn't think to look under the frozen veg wink).

No, a standard tub shape, like ben and jerry. Not sure of the mathematical name for it.

MongerTruffle Fri 24-Mar-17 18:43:41

Ben and Jerry-type container = pot
Standard 2 litre container = tub

It's a frustum of a cone aka a pot.

elephantoverthehill Fri 24-Mar-17 18:49:57

I thought it would be described as a truncated cone. I also hide nice things under the veg in the freezer, DCs never really look. wink

See, I have no problem describing the shape itself as a pot (it is very similar to a flower pot, after all). But put ice cream in and it magically becomes a tub.
