Pregnancy rant ConfusedI'm 39 weeks pregnant with our second child. I've sharp pains and discomfort all afternoon and even the doctors surprised I've lasted this long. Earlier today I rang DH twice as I needed to find out something regarding a delivery he didn't answer or return call so I assumed he must be busy he'll call back I wasn't too bothered as I get he's in work or at meetings. We always check in once or twice a day. He always rings me without fail on his way home from work on the train even if we've spoken at lunch. So I haven't heard from him at all today and at this time of the evening I assume he's on his way to running club. AIBU that a quick phone call or text to check I'm ok before going to the club where he'll be for the next two hours would be too much to ask. I'm prob bu and I think I've just overdone it today

He should have called you but I assume he knows you haven't gone into labour as there would be more than 2 missed calls?

At this stage you might have been ringing to say baby on way so you are not being unreasonable. My labour with second child was 50 minutes from first contraction to having baby so he really should be on high alert just in case!! All the best for a safe labour OP Flowers

You'll be sorry you were mad at him if he's fallen under a bus.

Not the point of the thread but did your doctor (consultant?) really say they were surprised you've not gone into labour after just an afternoon of discomfort and pains? This is a doctor that sees dozens of labouring women daily?

He rang me there a few mins ago to say he was caught up in meetings all day. My answer was don't worry sweetheart baby's here all is good and dinners on the table. Think he realised how he must keep an eye on the phone more often Grin

No zilphashatpin he said to me he couldn't see me lasting 38 weeks and here I am at 39 weeks. He made it sound as if I was gonna go any second with now make sure you've your bag packed and don't be going too far. Great doctor but really wish he didn't get my hopes up Confused

Ahh ok!! I think some of them rhyme off the same chat with every woman out of habit not realising we actually take it at face value!
