Plain steamed with loads of hollandaise or mayo. Can't wait for asparagus season.

Griddle pan very lightly so it's still crunchy

Asparagus. How middle class of you. Are they from Waitrose?

Expect to get flamed....along with your asparagus.

Mmmm!! Hot griddle pan, charred lines on the outside but still crunchy. Nothing worse than soggy flaccid over-boiled asparagus. Amazing wrapped in pancetta served with a poached egg and some hollandaise

Steamed, then served with a couple of fried (in butter) quail's eggs.

Or

Served instead of toast with a very soft boiled egg.

Steamed - you can approximate in a microwave. And then dipped into soft boiled egg.

Is asparagus considered posh? I'm as common as owt and have it loads when it's in season. Roasted with oil and pepper for me

Thank you! I'll check to see what else we've got in the cupboards before committing to one of these suggestions.

Roughly how long should I be roasting / sautéing / steaming / griddling?

slightly simmered or steamed. and then drowned in butter with some parmesan on top. yummy

Steam, then drench in melted butter.

Or dip into a runny boiled egg. Mmmm....

I'm from the Vale of Evesham, so used to eat it by the ton when it was in season. GPs had a huge asparagus bed in their garden.

Griddled with olive oil. If it's from Peru though it won't taste of much, sorry!

Asparagus is middle class? What a bloody stupid statement to make.

It's more expensive than cabbage, that's true, but it's on sale in every supermarket.

Batteriesallgone · 20/03/2017 18:35

Either flash fry very quickly with olive oil and drenched in lemon

Or

Roasted with loads of salt
