AIBU?

To be a bit sick of the independance referendum debate with Scotland

I will say I am neither Scottish or English, but getting soo bloody sick of the whining about another referendum (and I'm a remoaner!). It feels very much like a whiney teen having a tantrum that they didn't get their own way. There are two other countries in the UK, and do you see us moaning about our bloody freedom. We hardly ever get represented on political programmes and yet it feels like every week we get the SNP on the TV telling us of Scotlands woes. Quite frankly they are hogging the debating arena. Rant over.

I'm not Scottish, but I think another referendum would be reasonable in the circumstances. Not personally sick of hearing about it, but a bit gutted that it'd ruin our chances of having anything other than a Tory government for the foreseeable future.

YABU. Why start a thread about it? The OP is the very definition of whiney.

ODFOD = oh do fuck off dear.

Interesting and less whiney thread over here if anyone is interested:

It's just so dull, I'm bored of it and I honesty couldn't care less, I think there should be a rule about having another exact referendum so soon to spare us all from it!

No you're right, you never see Irish people talking about their freedom. Especially not in the West of Scotland where I live!

We do need to hear more from Wales and Northern Ireland, though, esp the latter. And Gibraltar. Much more from Gibraltar.

Yeah if we can get UKIP of the telly telling us about how nasty immigrants and the EU then we can talk the SNP (actual government of Scotland and all but a few of MPs in Westminster from Scotland) and how much exposure it gets.

Oh, and there are three other countries. Do keep up.

I'm not an SNP member no Confused Are you a Tory astroturfer?

The thread to which I linked actually contains a fairly civilised discussion, with a preponderance of No voters. I get the impression youngsters not interested in civilised discussion though.

"SNP member perhaps"

Its that level of political ignorance that concerns me to be honest. Especially since us Scots are apparently dominating the media so much.

Not all independence supporters vote or are members of the SNP. There are other parties in Scotland that support independence.

PlayOnWurtz · 16/03/2017 23:40

Yanbu. They want to leave Britain but be taken over by Brussels...that's not exactly independence is it!!

I'm sick of tall the whiney whinging in politics these days no wonder millenials get a bad rap when we have this kind of politics leading by example
