Does anyone have one foot bigger than the other

One foot is a 5 and a half and the other is a six. I have a pair of size six shoes on and they are far too big for the smaller foot. It can't be good for me.
How does anyone else manage?

Put an insole in the too big shoe.

Forgot to mention that I do use insoles. The difference in foot size is considerable

I wear the bigger size too. I am 7 and 7.5 and have to wear and 8 usually if I can't get half sizes.

I remember reading a short story about a woman with your problem, but who loved shoes so much she put out ads and found her symmetrical twin, ie the person who had the same size feet as her but with the L and R switched. They bought two pairs of each shoe, and swapped the relevant foot.

An extreme solution though!

You can also get heal cushions that stick in the back to shorten the length but the the difference between 5.5 and 6 shouldn't be such a difference that you find them far too big. Maybe get them measured again just in case and check widths too

I have this too! Similar sized feet to yours with a half size difference. I mostly wear shoes with laces or buckles (e.g. Birkenstocks in summer) so can do them up more tightly on the smaller foot. I also have a lovely pair of bespoke boots made in a shop local to me, they drew around my feet so the boots are a perfect fit! They were a bit pricey (£125 for leather below-knee boots) but are so comfy and have lasted years because I just get them re-soled every other year. Would something like that be an option for you?

Mine are half a size different. I have to buy and 8 or a 7 - sounds silly but an 8 when I weigh more (my feet get fat) and a 7 when I weigh less. Although I did manage to get hold of some 7.5's in Clarks and they were the dream fit. Not the dream price or quality mind you.

A size difference between mine - always has been. I just buy for the bigger foot and stick an insole in (or buy lace-ups and pull the laces tight!)

A slight difference between mine. Maybe half a size. I have occasionally had to use insoles or heel cushions, but usually I just have to have the bigger size.

I have more of a problem with one foot being broader than the other, so I just have to buy shoes that are generously cut. Trainers in winter, velcro strappy trekking sandals in summer. If I need something more formal then M &S seem the most likely to have something that I can actually wear. That is just my personal experience.

Yep, one's a 6 and the other's nearly 6.5. I buy size 7 boots, generally, or a 6.5 if they're available. Shoes-wise it depends on the style. Ballet flats I generally go for a 6.5, occasionally a 6 if they're a generous 6. Trainers pretty much always a 6, but I can't buy shoes without trying them on which is a pita!

I've one a 6 the other a 3 I stuff the smaller foots toe with cotton wool I used to get blocks made by them hospital but they where uncomfy and often too big !

Seriously, just buy two pairs of shoes. At least for your everyday ones you wear most. Life's too short to be uncomfortable all the time.

Yep. Used to be a standard size 6, then when pregnant went up to a 7. They shrunk back to 6.5, then back up to a 7 again with second pregnancy. One has now shrunk to a 6.5, while the other is stuck at a 7. Pain in the bum!!!

I have odd sized feet and buy the bigger size. The smaller one generally requires one and a half insoles.

Sorry tea only just spotted your question! My boots are from Chuckle Shoes in Exeter. They have a good website and I believe you can order shoes and boots from them online; you'd have to draw round your feet on a piece of paper and also send calf measurements for boots. I love mine, most comfy shoes I've ever had!

Pretty much everyone does! The right is normally the bigger foot. I work in a shoe shop and its a very common complaint.
