Pantene - It's PAN-TEN surely? Not PAN-TEEN as per this glam old ad.

No-one knows how to pronounce L'Occitane, so.

As soon as I saw this thread I thought it'd be about L'Occitane. My friend and I had a row about its correct pronounciation last night

I always thought L'Occitane was pronounced locks-see-tan.

My mum is obsessed with it and that's how she always pronounces it so I just go along with that Grin

Braun is always mis-pronounced , it should be pronounced as brown. Don't get me started on Lidl!

Isn't L'occitaine pronounced lockytayne? It's french isn't it (l'occitaine du Provence?)

I always thought it was Panten too.

'Panteen' is the North American pronunciation. Both are equally correct.

In the States it's pronounced Pan-Teen, moving to the UK Pan-Ten always sounded weird to me. Bit like herbal essences; Americans don't pronounce the "h" so it's 'erbal essences.

Pant-een in USA where they don't do French.

It's Pan-ten here, Pan-teen in a lot of other markets.

MerryMarigold · 12/03/2017 22:18

Cos Panténe sounds so much more sophisticated. Like L'Oréal. It's French innit. Maybe it's still Panteen (to rhyme what canteen!) in America. I dunno.

I say L'oss -i- ten in a slightly French accent.

Is that incorrect?!

I'm so glad I got an answer and that I haven't been saying it wrong for years! I only came across it via googling Kelly Le Brock as I've just watched weird science Grin
