My Christmas jumper is still lurking in the laundry basket, so not quite as bad as you!

Stick them in then normal wash then. That's what I did with a top.
It will either wash it nicely or kill it. If it washes then fab, if it kills it then no great loss as it's just spending time in a laundry basket at the moment

Are they summer dresses? If so, what's the difference between the washing basket and in a suitcase (fellow slattern).

Meh mines the same. By the time work clothes all our jeans and school stuff is done I don't care if there's a dress up outfit or two left over...

Stick them in the washing machine either on hand wash cycle or a gentle one! I used to have stuff in the bottom of the washing basket like this and then realised I'd never wear them again if I relied on me hand washing them, so I might as well take the risk in the machine. Do it!!!

Ha the thing with hand washing is the wringing out hurts my hands! I must be a wuss not used to hard labour! I think I would be tempted to just stick them on a gentle cycle in the machine and cross my fingers and shut my eyes!

Unless a pet has also been using them as a bed you're not even close.

I love threads like this as they make me feel so much better about the dress that's been sitting in the laundry hamper for 3 weeks now Grin

Put them on the delicate cycle, they'll be fine. And if they are not at least they won't be cluttering up your basket for the next 6 months

My 3 year old is wearing clothes that I put in the charity bag and shoved in the cupboard after my now 10 year old grew out of them years ago.

My laundry basket is so stinky with smelly DP socks stewing in there alongside the clothes that if the dog escapes upstairs she rolls in it, like when they roll in stinky fox dung Shock

I like to have the laundry basket overflowing and then sort it into piles on the floor. Wash a load leave to dry in utility room for about three days giving everyone a go at some sort of assault course there.then when it comes to ironing shove it all in the ironing basket only to hide it under the stairs when someone comes round. I had holiday clothes (they were actually clean though) on a chair in my bedroom until last week.we went on holiday at the end of June.Hmm

I recently threw away the 4,654 odd socks , a bugger to iron silky shirt and a pair of linen trousers that have been languishing in my laundry basket for over a year. I felt cleansed !
