To go on holiday?

Ok, little back story, I have 2 kids, a preschooler and a late teen. I live hundreds of miles from most of my family and friends and aside from in laws, work friends & mums at groups I am generally quite isolated here.

I have been invited on a girls holiday with friends from my hometown, holiday was originally planned for 3/4 day break and so I was keen to go, I felt this was manageable and not too cheeky ( I have never left dh to care for either child alone) but days have now increased to a week and I now feel I couldn't go as it's too long.

I am tired, I really miss my friends, feel a little under appreciated etc so was treating it as a bit of a reward (in my head, you know to help with the guilt)!

Dh is ok with me going and he'd manage just fine.

Would AIBU to just go?

Of course you can go!

What's stopping you from just joining them for 3-4 days then?

Go and have fun, your DH will be fine and is happy for you to go

I'd be skipping out the door guilt free!

I think you're being silly. Please go and have a good time. The house will not burn down while you're away.

Go. Or I will!

Why has DH never looked after the kids alone - that's years if you've a late teen!?

BigSandyBalls2015 Mon 06-Mar-17 13:45:45

And surely a 'late teen' doesn't need much looking after?

go!! Def go!
