AIBU?

To say those motorised cars that toddlers can drive are a bit pointless?

Or am I just jealous I saw a 2 year old with a better car than me! Grin
Aren't they just the biggest waste of money though or can you think of anything else to compete against this ?

I would buy one for DD.

But only if I would fit in it!

Those massive play houses. The ones that are more expensive and more elaborate than one of those summer cabins that everyone could use..

I think they are awful...get them something with peddles these are just breeding laziness.

No wonder we have obese kids.

YANBU.
My BIL got DS one and it's pointless, he'd rather be on his balance bike as it can go faster.

Yes, after nearly 20 years of parenting I have (almost) learned not to judge but why give a child an out door toy that requires no actual activity?

Yanbu, dh got given one for our kids from his boss, they like it but don't love it. Glad we didn't pay what they cost!

Guilty. Bought dd(15 months) one at xmas. She does enjoy being in it as it is remote control until shes old enough to drive herself but shes been in it prob 5-6 times. They are a waste unfortunately, unless you have a nice big garden(we dont).

I often see them for sale on our local Facebook page.

I actually saw a mini camper van for sale in our local toys r us. It really isn't beneficial to a child in any way at all is it!?

Agree. On our local site lady sells them, takes money never gives item... why do people give money to someone prior to seeing it for such a naf, chav item. Yanbu. Sorry just seem another complaint about her just now!!!!!

My DD has one, she keeps it at my works unit at there is loads of secure but open space (empty warehouse type section) and she loves driving around for 20 mins with the music playing if I have you pop into work at weekends or something and need to keep her occupied. Every single child who sees it wants a go, so I believe it was money well spent as ours has had lots of use and we don't need to charge it all that much and shes a very active 3 year old, not at all lazy. I don't think we would use it at home though as we don't have the space.

Completely disagree. We were given one for free from my bil. My ds's had so much fun in it. We gave it to Friends of ours for free aswell.

They're a waste unless you have a good big patio or something. I think parents are tempted to buy them because they look cool, but the children really don't have any interest. I know someone who bought one for her two year old, the child drove it round the corner to grandparents on boxing day morning and it sat in their conservatory dot the next two years.

As kids we loved our pedal cars. An electric one looks fancy but can't see it as much fun speeding downhill giving mum a heart attack.

We bought our DS one for his birthday. He loves it but in the winter it's been sat in his bedroom not going anywhere. He still likes to sit in it and pretend though.
My son is also really not lazy, he's the most active kid I've ever met and his nursery carers are always commenting on how he never stops and always runs everywhere so it's not breeding laziness unless you literally use it all the time everywhere and they never walk / play etc.

My DC used to have them - they adored them and got loads of use driving them around the house and garden.

We got one for DS for Christmas. It's reasonably entertaining but he prefers his scuttlebug.

DS had a jeep one once, that had a remote control, it was ace as if you did it right the jeep would go up on its back wheels so he'd be doing a wheelie across the living room, which he LOVED!

Someone had one if these in front of me recently. It was a motorised motorbike that went at 2mph. I was trying to be ever so patient with the wee lad when he kept cutting me up and almost knocking me over as he kept coming back on himself in circles and landing at my feet. Never thought I'd be glad to see the mum 'take over' and drive off on it in a straighter line Grin

DS loved them but we could never get one as we just don't have the room.

I like them. I've had a go in one. A larger one. Was ace.

My DS got one as a present- he hates it as he doesn't like the buzzing sound it makes.
