Aibu to sell all the kids toys??!!

I'm fed up of all the clutter. the baby doesn't even play with toys (10 months) and much prefers random stuff. I kept all of dd1s toys (age 3) but she's not interested. As for dd1 she has way too much stuff. She's probably got around 20 dolls including different baby annabelles, Corolle dolls, baby borns etc. Then she has multiple accessories prams, cribs etc. This is just a quarter of all the stuff.

Because she has so much everything is in great condition. I've got a baby and children's market soon so aibu to just grab loads of black bags shove all the toys in them and take them to sell??!!

The only things I will keep are the wooden kitchen and all wooden toy food, dolls house & accessories, wooden easel, orchard games, puzzles, wooden toy pram and cradle and a few dolls.

I'm going to get rid of all the soft toys every single one. they take too much room. I've asked dd1 what she'd like to give away and she's being sensible and has put quite a few toys already in bags so she's not just going to wake up one day to find most of her toys gone

Apparantly the baby will have no toys and just because she doesn't play with toys now doesn't mean she won't in a couple of months...

My fantasy is to give all the toys away except the toys that gets played with. That would be the lego, the kitchen, some games, puzzles, marbles and a few dolls. I think I might do it today.

We used to do this regularly, and the money was set aside to buy stuff they really wanted later on.
If we did a car boot they got a couple of pounds mad money to go buy some new tat, and we put the rest aside. As they got older they realised if they looked after their stuff it held its resale value, and when it came to things like PlayStation games and CD's that really adds up.

We have no attic space. The only storage space in this house is an outdoor shed which I really don't want to use for the kids toys. Our previous house had loads of storage so we didn't realise just how much toys there were!

I do rotate the toys but stuff just ends up everywhere including in my bedroom

I'd say the stuff you are keeping sounds plenty. Maybe keep one soft toy each? So they have something to cuddle when they aren't well.
They will probably play more if they have less stuff - I learnt that the hard way!

Be careful doing what a friend did. She gave loads of toys away to the charity shop only for her dd to go searching for several of the items. Getting quite upset in the process. On walking past the charity shop window she spots the toys in the window
To cut a long story short she ended up having to buy them back from the charity shop

Less is more! The less they have, the more they play with them in my experience

keep the ones they love and go for it

Babies/under 2's generally prefer random stuff, cardboard boxes and tubes, pots, pans and dried pasta, being outside etc (Google image loose parts or treasure baskets for ideas) so you will not depriving your baby
