AIBU?

AIBU to be annoyed at DH

DH has been complaining about bad back, he went to doctors yesterday and basically confirmed that he had pulled a muscle, offered to sign him off for a week - DH refused to be signed off but accepted pain killers etc (he works in retail management so can go light duties) I booked a massage for him for this morning, he's known all week. I was booked in for after to have eyebrows done, first time since I had 2nd DD that I was planning on doing something for myself.

The plan was I was going to take DD1&2 to the duck pond while DH had massage and he would take them to a cafe while I had my eyebrows done, and if meet them there afterwards.

Was supposed to leave at 8:30, at 8:15 he tells me he's feeling too unwell to go but said he was ok to have DC while I went in his place. Got ready to go, made sure everything was ok for DH & DCs. Had my keys in my hand and coat on and DH says "you will have to cancel I need to go back to bed" and walks upstairs and gets back into bed!?

AIBU to be really pissed off with him? I understand he's unwell but I bet he will be well enough to go to work tomorrow - he's a workaholic and never calls in sick.

Just have the massage in his place and leave him to it at home. It's a trivial problem and he can arrange his own massage if he wants one in future.

Hard to know how sick he is but if he's well enough to go to work surely he's well enough to sit on the sofa and watch the DC's play?

I asked what was wrong to try help, he said he feels run down and just wanted to go back to bed. Can't argue with that, so left him to go to bed.

It's always difficult for me to do anything for myself, it's harder to get someone to have 2 DC I've discovered. Yet DH can go to the Gym 3/4 times a week, goes on work conferences (which really aren't work honestly- they even had clean bandit play at their last evening do!) I sound resented but I'm really not, I'm just annoyed, I was looking forward to it all week Sad

How old are the DC? Fucking hell, if I went to bed every time I was run down I'd never be out of it. Why can't he be on the sofa watching the kids? Can't take that long for your appt.

DD1 is 2 and DD2 is 6 weeks old.

I suppose it's man flu? When I'm unwell and run down I have to pull my big girl pants on and get on with it, yet men do the dying swan act at any given opportunity.

I feel bad for being pissed off with him, he works very hard to provide for us, (I'm on maternity leave at the moment) but I would have been back by now. DD1 is watching a film and DD2 is still napping. He would have just had to watch a film with the two of them... blah!

Did you have to pay for the missed appointments? I hope he reimbursed you.

Perhaps it's a side effect of the pain killers?

No luckily she's my regular beautician so didn't charge as I never cancel without good reason, plus I rescheduled with her for my eyebrows for tomorrow morning as I have a friend who will have both DCs for an hour while I go. Bloody men Angry

I would be very pissed off with him. He could have gone back to bed when you got back.

WorraLiberty - I thought this at first but he's not taken any this morning (unsure why)

I'm calmer now, he's still in bed but I'm tempted to bugger off with DDs for the day Hmm
