Christ. I actually counted tonight. I got to 96 seconds. On the phone I was whispering the numbers...1 add 2 add 3

"What was that?"

"Nothing....hmm"

gringrin

Haha!!

Salmotrutta Thu 02-Mar-17 22:03:35

Do you mean there was total silence for 96 seconds?

Because that's a bit off.

outofmydepth45 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:05:31

Was it a hard question ?

Whatssheonaboutnow Thu 02-Mar-17 22:06:44

Was he googling for the answer?

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:09:13

FFS. My DH does this too! It drives me potty!

He's the most deliberate twat sometimes!

I've counted to 30 before now. (its a calming thing for me)

PossibiliTea Thu 02-Mar-17 22:09:21

Oh wow I'm with you on this!

Sometimes it takes this long then I get "not fussed" to a simple yes/no question ohhhh grinds my gears haha

HecateAntaia Thu 02-Mar-17 22:10:02

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

Whatssheonaboutnow Thu 02-Mar-17 22:12:02

We need to know the question really.

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:13:07

Haha!!

To be fair it was a difficult question. And he was eating salad then starting talking about the tomatoes so I just carried on counting until he answered the original question.

Bless him.

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:16:03

You're much kinder than me. I lose the will to love then sarcastically answer my own question.

does my head in.

He's lucky he;s cute. grin

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:16:41

love???? I meant live!!

I do love him!

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:18:05

Q was what do you want to do at the weekend.

SheSaidHeSaid Thu 02-Mar-17 22:18:46

Mine does this too, drives me potty.

Will ask him something and wait and wait, say his name and he will answer immediately. Grr

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:20:14

Which is a hard question as he answers it "what do you want to do?" Argh! So tonight I said "what do you want to do?" Back.

Too hard lol

harderandharder2breathe Thu 02-Mar-17 22:23:47

I work in customer service and while I would never count I do roll my eyes (call centre! They can't see me and I stay polite to them) when people waffle for five minutes in answer to a yes or no question.

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:23:48

have wine. it helps.

tigerrun Thu 02-Mar-17 22:24:31

I will ask DH a question at dinner then realise he has a mouthful (fair enough) - look expectantly at him for the answer once he has laboriously chewed and swallowed....then he pauses and puts another mouthful in as if I am not sat there, question hanging in the air..

It makes me feel a bit stabby.

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:24:53

He's the most deliberate twat sometimes!

I think it's deliberate too. I've learnt to do the same back and he hates it.

Is it a man thing and what is its purpose?

Funny creatures.

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:26:53

will ask DH a question at dinner then realise he has a mouthful (fair enough) - look expectantly at him for the answer once he has laboriously* chewed and swallowed....then he pauses and puts another mouthful in as if I am not sat there, question hanging in the air..

It makes me feel a bit stabby.*

Oh god. Here.... winecake

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:29:58

I have no idea the reasoning behind it.

He claims he's thinking. Fuck my life, how much thinking does a simple question require?

Also does the 'I dont know, what do you want to do' back to me!

Are our DH's related?

tigerrun Thu 02-Mar-17 22:30:09

Thank you - both wine and cake are often the answer (seeing as I'm clearly not getting one from him in a hurry!). grin

PollytheDolly Thu 02-Mar-17 22:32:58

They must be related?

I enjoy doing it back now, or answering a question with a question. I can see the look on his face lol. The other day I got

"Answer then!?"

Well, I laughed grin

It could be worse. There was a thread on the property board recently where a poster claimed she had once viewed a house with her husband and asked what he thought of it.

It took him a while to reply.

A big while.

SEVEN YEARS later he suddenly said "I think we should buy it"

OboePlayingImmortalRabbit Thu 02-Mar-17 22:34:35

My husband does this too. I think it's because he despises me and I am not worthy of his attention.

Evilstepmum01 Thu 02-Mar-17 22:35:26

Well, I laughed

This may well be the answer. Stabbing him in the eyeball with a fork is apparently illegal.
