Should I mention this? Nursery related

My young toddler has been attending nursery for 6 months and 3-4 times he's had a poo in his nappy when I've picked him up.

The one time the worker told me as soon as I came in he'd just done a poo and she was about to change it, so it had been noticed. He's never had nappy rash or anything before, but today I thought I could smell something straight away, when I got home he'd done a really messy poo which had leaked all out of his nappy and he's a little bit sore. The nappy wasn't otherwise full and he'd been changed twice in 6 hours there (and already had a poo) so not like they're not changing him.

It's a perfectly nice nursery as far as I'm concerned, my older child went there too, nice staff etc. Never ever had this problem with my older one.

He does poo a lot, at least 2-3 times a day.

Not sure if I should mention it and ask them to keep a closer eye on his nappies or just put it down to one of those things.

Does he poo at a specific time in the evenings? You might want to ask them to check in the evenings before you pick him up. DS tends to do one at about 5 pm most days so nursery change him before I pick him up. Also they're quite happy to change him before I pick him up if he has done one

I'd mention it. Purely because I used to have a DD in nursery whilst at uni and they (I understand not all nurseries are like that) started to leave her in it for ages knowing I'd be along soon to pick her up and well "away can change it when she gets here". It did start to give her quite bad nappy rash. Sad
