So now they've dumped the aloe Vera and they are now onto the weight loss coffee. "Welcome to the family " they all chant like Stepford wives. And I've now deleted them all. I can take no more.

I've got my first juice pluser on fb, I'm loving it, it's hilarious. Latest status said using they're products means kids get sick less

ASilhouetteAndNothingMore · 24/02/2017 23:22

I blocked a mum from school selling some weight loss shite. I was fed up of FB photos of her bed with quotes like "another hard day at the office" and quotes about how she was running a successful business and being a full time mummy.
Yeah cos the rest of us are bad parents because we leave the house to work.
I just think of snake oil salesmen!!

talidinozzo · 24/02/2017 23:24

I've got a friend at work who drinks that skinny coffee or whatever it's called. Not sure why the fuck she believes in it but for some reason she does. I have one remaining mlm selling friend and we have a very strict understanding that the subject does not come up between us.

StrawberryMouse · 24/02/2017 23:26

I can't deal with this nonsense. Around here a lot of the weight loss and clean living ambassadors look like angry thumbs.

Pettywoman · 24/02/2017 23:27

I've got a FL one. Last I heard she was getting a trip to Dubai and had earned either a Mulberry handbag or a new laptop as a bonus. Funnily enough the handbag hasn't materialised yet. Perhaps she chose the laptop, or maybe it was just pretend. I wonder...

AliceThrewTheFookingGlass · 24/02/2017 23:32

I've got one claiming her capsules will make you lose weight and tone up in just a week. She's even included photos of various stages of normal stomach bloating to demonstrate this magic.

In other words she's taken photos before and after eating a meal.

She must be as bored of seeing her shit as everyone else because she uses some 'buffer' thing to post this shite for her

HirplesWithHaggis · 24/02/2017 23:35

I had a coffee person turn up on my FB timeline last week, she was very upset when I pointed out that black coffee is zero-calorie anyway. It's not "normal" coffee, she said. Didn't answer when I asked what was abnormal about it. Confused

Did delete my comments from her post, though, and send me a snotty PM.

YouOKHun · 24/02/2017 23:49

If you haven't already then have look at Timeless Vie's blog and FB page. Lots of horror stories of these women getting seriously ripped off by pyramid with product schemes: Forever Living, Younique, Maelle (no defunct), Juice Plus, Arbonne, Jamberry, Skinny Coffee, Thrive, Vida Divina - fuckers, the lot of them! If you haven't joined the growing anti MLM cause join Timeless vie on FB and twitter and also MLM Botwatch.

So many of my friends are involved in mlm things, it's kind of disappointing but also I almost feel sorry for them. It's hard finding a job that allows you to earn a bit of money while still being flexible and family-friendly. I do have one friend who has been involved in several different schemes since the 90s and she still hasn't lost belief in them. I do feel a bit terrible that I'm not able to support her in her various businesses but I just can't afford all that overpriced stuff. She's such a lovely lady and has lots of other regular jobs as well, working around her kids. I want her to do well and be happy.

Groovee · 24/02/2017 23:58

Mine is selling toothpaste. Where the photos do not look like the same teeth!! And she'll give us 10% off!

gingercoffee · 25/02/2017 00:02

I know it's not exactly the same, but I have a few friends who work for a well-known utilities distribution company and they keep trying to get me to switch my utilities, and tell me about the great mobile phone deals they can get me. I'm so put off by my friends trying to sell me stuff that I don't even listen to the details. Just feel like I'm being used when they start these conversations, and that people should keep their work and their friendships separate. Angry

gingercoffee · 25/02/2017 00:04

Grin @Groovee's post. Sounds like a bargain!!

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 25/02/2017 00:06

Whenever these threads come up, I'm always just a little bit disappointed that I seem to have no mlm friends...

Hawkmoth · 25/02/2017 00:13

TBF I lost a lot of weight when I had coffee for breakfast, coffee and a fag mid morning, then coffee and crisps for lunch...

mellowfartfulness · 25/02/2017 00:15

I've got one except she's barely even a friend - we met about three times at baby group, friended on FB as the group ended but we all thought we might meet up occasionally. Now I get regular PMs from her saying how she hopes that 'as a friend' I'll want to support her business. The cheeky fuck has never so much as asked me round for coffee. I wouldn't buy overpriced meal replacement shakes off my dearest childhood friend, let alone someone I only know because we both had babies in 2015. Confused

LittlePaintBox · 25/02/2017 00:15

One of my friends went big on Valentus coffee - I was very disappointed in her, because she was obviously giving me a 'script' about how she no longer ate biscuits in the afternoon, I'm pretty sure she didn't anyway. When I looked into it, it seemed the only way she could make money was getting her friends hooked into selling the stuff, so I backed off as far as I could.

Bunnyfuller · 25/02/2017 00:22

One of the gazillions of reasons I left FB. People sodding adding me to online parties. And completions 'whoever shares my post 200 times gets their name in a hat and will win an amazing gift' it's a fucking hand cream. I think the real sadness is those who own the actual nucleus of the business exploiting mums looking to make money after having kids. Bloody cynical.

Now, there's an amAzing secret gift for the first 23000 to reply to my post.....I will also do a shit YouTube clip of me painting large black caterpillars sleek eyebrows onto my ginger, freckle, saggy and wrinkly face...

Ps I think I have a uti, aloe Vera anyone?

olderthanyouthink · 25/02/2017 00:22

There's someone I went to school with pushing some "new you" weight loss/muscle gain shake thing.

Theres before and after photos of people and the befores look better Grin. Something in the shakes seems to give you a boob/lip job, jafar eyebrows and orange skin.

lalalalyra · 25/02/2017 00:24

@grovee I have a toothpaste one as well. The "during" photo is perfectly normal teeth and gums... the before is of the same teeth with such heavy editing the owner of the teeth looks like they've spent 6 months under a sunbed and the "after" is so edited her teeth look fluoresce abd her skin blue!

I mean, we can see the skin around your mouth ffs. We can see that the toothpaste hasn't worked a miracle!

So glad I am not alone in the toothpaste 😂

justagirl484 · 25/02/2017 00:48

None of my friends have succumbed to MLM yet. I have had friends attempt to unleash Party Lite, Body Shop and Mary Kay on me. never again (shudders)

RedBullBlood LOL If those cures actually worked there would be no obesity in this country. Pure snake oil, it would seem...

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 25/02/2017 00:57

Didn't realised Jamberry was another of these scammy MLMs - I have a few friends who've taken it on but my nails are shite so I can't be arsed with any of it, however hard they try to persuade me that it's wonderful even for me. No.
But I hadn't heard bad things about it until the post up there. Hope they're not getting too badly bitten!

SoleBizzz · 25/02/2017 01:25

MLM what does it stand for?
