AIBU?

To ask if anyone has had 'menopause' injections?

I was given three doses of 'decapeptyl' to induce a menopause like state at the end of last year , to see if it would control chronic/acute pelvic pain.

I had my last injection on the 31st December, was told after 4 weeks or so my body should return to normal, fertility restored etc.

I've not had a period or anything like since, still having hot flushes and still very dry down below - I guess it hasn't left my system entirely? Breasts have felt a bit strange at times- painful/tingly so sort of hoped that was hormones returning to normal.

I am on the mini pill too so not sure if that could prevent periods returning.

Normally without the injections I was bleeding 2 out of every 4 weeks or so with spotting in between time and needing morphine/dihydrocodedine to control period pain. I don't miss that obviously but I'm scared I won't be able to have children (maybe jumping to conclusions!!)

I have an appointment with GP on the 6th and gynaecology on the 7th so will ask them what they think but just a bit worried, they said in hospital that the injections are reversible and no permanent effects but I just feel like I need to have a period or something to prove that to myself iyswim?

Hi I had zoladex injections for about 6 months a few years ago. My periods came back after about 8 weeks (ish). I think it is quite normal for it to take a while. (I was seriously hoping mine would not come back too soon.) I wasn't on the mini pill however so no knowledge of that.

Thank you Flowers, maybe I just need to give it a bit longer then. Was so worried about having the injections in the first place, relieved that gynaecology don't want me to have them anymore in some ways but then there's a whole mix of anxiety about fertility and at the same time not wanting to go back to being bedbound once a month!
