Saving car park space

Today whilst I was taking my five year old to
Hospital appointment I circled the car park 3 times looking for some where to park . It was getting closer to His appointment time , I spotted a space being emptied in my rear view mirror so drove around again (4th time ) I noticed a black vw pull in to the car park behind me stop and a lady in her late 40's jump out when I got around to the possible available space , said lady was stood in the car space I indicated to enter it , wound down my window and asked if she could move please . She said she couldn't as she was reserving the space .
I pointed out that you can't just stand in a spot to reserve it and the only way the spot could be reserved is by the hospital policy she carried on standing there , I admit I did at this point lose my temper and told her to move her effing ass or I will be at liberty to mow "ur bitch ass down " she told me her husband is waiting to get in the spot to which I told who effing cares I plonk my car ; as much as I could in the space. Me and my little boy got out and got a ticket to my return to a very very angry husband who if I didn't move my car was going to report me to the hospital security. He banged my car , kicked the wheel , I put the ticket in and walked off car half in half out .
I never been so angry with them and my self why does parking make us all insane !

Don't blame you for being angry, stupid couple! YANBU!

RentANDBills · 21/02/2017 16:53

Reverse?
Surely you can't think YANBU when you told someone to "move your fucking arse or I'll mow your bitch arse down"?! In front of a child no less.

She was being cheeky but you overstepped the line so vastly I doubt you could look back and see it!

Sirzy · 21/02/2017 16:53

I hate it when people do this. I generally find that driving slowly towards the person doing the reserving works well!

That said with a child in the car I probably wouldn't have got into an altercation and would have just silently fumed and parked elsewhere.

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 21/02/2017 16:54

Well done!!! Flowers
Did you check your car for any damage when you returned? Would all be on cctv if need be. .
I hope she knew her ass was well beat too!!

thedancingbear · 21/02/2017 16:55

"move your fucking arse or I'll mow your bitch arse down"

Jesus fucking christ.

CatOnAWarmTinRoof · 21/02/2017 16:55

You both sound batshit to me.

witsender · 21/02/2017 16:55

She sounds ridiculous, you however sound insane with anger issues.

Hoppinggreen · 21/02/2017 16:56

Well you sound classy OP

ZackyVengeance · 21/02/2017 16:57

yanbu

gunsandbanjos · 21/02/2017 16:57

She was wrong to attempt to reserve the space. You were wrong to yell like a lunatic.

NerrSnerr · 21/02/2017 16:58

Did you really say that in front of your son or is it what you wish you did as you quietly drive away looking for another space.

witsender · 21/02/2017 16:59

Did you not get a ticket for not parking properly? You can't really judge the husband for behaving poorly after your display.

empirerecordsrocked · 21/02/2017 16:59

I don't think you dealt with it in the best way but I would have been very pissed off.

LurkingHusband · 21/02/2017 16:59

I hate it when people do this. I generally find that driving slowly towards the person doing the reserving works well!

Oh, you mean common assault ? Why not say so ?

arethereanyleftatall · 21/02/2017 17:00

Lol, I assume you're joking about what you said but yanbu at all. Well done for standing up to them.

RentANDBills · 21/02/2017 17:00

Sorry but whilst she was wrong for trying to reserve the space from what you say the only thing she did was stand there and explaining "I can't move as i'm reserving the space" to which you replied with a torrent of abuse.

How is that anything other than extremely unreasonable?!

Fairenuff · 21/02/2017 17:00

I don't get it. Where you the one standing in the space? If so YWBU.

Or were you the one who said 'move your fucking arse or I'll mow your bitch arse down' both outloud and in front of your child? If so YWBU.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 21/02/2017 17:01

I wouldn't have even responded to her craziness tbh, would have just edged car in further & further until she got the message or the car was far enough in the space.

SparkleTwinkleGoldGlitter · 21/02/2017 17:01

I'd like to think if I had my child with me I wouldn't speak to someone like that I think a simple " well I am here with my car your DH is not so I'm parking" would of been enough then I would of parked and left.

She shouldn't of been reserving a space

Tbh neither of you are covered in glory over this

RentANDBills · 21/02/2017 17:02

walked off car half in half out I missed this bit - so you blocked up a hospital car park too?

Reverse.

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 21/02/2017 17:02

YANBU and as I am human and not a perfect parent only ever found on mn I will admit I have done similar. Agree not my finest moments and have cringed at my own behaviour afterwards but hell everyone apart from on mumsnet makes mistakes and these things happen. The couple were being given very unreasonable and I totally get your stress at trying to find a parking space in a hospital and worrying about being late for a dc appointment.

madmoon · 21/02/2017 17:02

Rentandbills I do know I shouldn't of shouts sworn or lost my rag , there is nothing I can say to that ,( I do have to state my little boy wasn't actually aware of what I said as the reason for my hospital appointment was to have his hearing aids fitted , not that it makes it any better )

What "message" would that be, out of interest ?

flumpybear · 21/02/2017 17:06

You didn't do yourself any favours but yes you're in the right - I'd have taken photographs of their car reg and reported to both the hospital and the nun emergency number for damage to the car .... but your hands aren't clean as you swore at her

Pinkheart5915 · 21/02/2017 17:07

With your car half in half out did you block other people visiting the hospital getting round the car park?

No she shouldn't of been reserving a space but you also didn't have to result to swearing and saying you'd mow her down in front of your child a simple well I'm here so I'm parking is firm but not nasty

However it was probably the fact both of you were attending the hospital for whatever reason and these things make people stressed
