To think my friend is lesbian and fancies me

I don't know if I'm imagining it but my close female friend is suddenly being different with me. We've known each other almost our whole lives and since she was born.

Our mums are best friends so we would see each other a lot. When I went to secondary school at 11 we lost contact and I then had a child but split from his dad shortly after.

She contacted me after seeing me at a church function and asked if she and her mum could come and see my son at my mums house. So it started off her and her mum coming to my mums and then me and her started meeting up independently.

She has complimented my looks regularly but I just took it as a friendly compliment. She sits so far in my personal space her feet are touching mine! I don't normally notice body language but it's unmissable.

Most importantly, if I ever mention any guys I like her face looks like thunder. She looks really angry and uncomfortable. I've always made jokes about guys I've liked but I can't anymore because she goes dead quiet and looks fuming!

So I don't.

I'm now wondering if she is lesbian and either doesn't want to say anything or if she might have a crush on me. But I don't know if I'm being daft.

She's from a very religious family and is religious herself so would never act on any lesbian feelings.

I just don't know but it's making me uncomfortable. I don't care if she's lesbian, I'm bisexual but I'd just rather know.

I have absolutely no romantic feelings for her.

If you're otherwise keen on her (as a friend) I'd just mention the personal space thing ("Oops, I better move over a bit!") and leave it at that. If she is attracted to you she may drift off once she realises you aren't keen.
