AIBU?

To move rooms or hotel for a cockroach?

We're staying in a cheap chain motel, stayed a few times before with no problems. Son spotted a 'big bug' on the curtain when getting into bed, dh grabbed it (and killed it) and realized that it is/was a cockroach. Bit of a Google identification confirmation, and took it to reception.

They gave us the option of changing room or hotel. We initially chose a new room, but when we moved there realized that it was almost directly over the old one, so we switched hotel.

Would you have done the same or are we being drama queens?

And to try to give a bit more background info, we're in the Uk, my insect identification is good as have plant science degree (studied plant pests, not cockroachs) and we gave everything a good shake down before packing and showered in the new hotel.

Rest of family snoring away (that's another aibu!!) and am wondering if iwbu?

Nope you're definitely ok. There's some countries where I'd pretty much expect roaches in a hotel but not in the uK!

Nope definitely not unreasonable. I've slept in motels in southern USA where roaches are pretty much part of the furniture, but in UK - no way.
