Vaping around children

I really don't know anything about vaping, I'm not a smoker and don't know anyone who vapes really but ds2 has returned from a sleepover where the dad vapes and he now has a really persistent cough but isn't unwell.

I didn't know he vaped until on the way home ds2 asked me what I thought of vaping and we had a discussion about it then I found out the father at this sleepover was vaping in the car although doesn't sound like he did it in the same room in their house.

It's something I have very little knowledge of, is it ok to do around kids? Should I ask them to avoid it next time? Am I just being paranoid because I have asthma myself so worry more about such things?
