AIBU?

A confirmed fan of Sharia, who has ties with Hamas is an organiser of the Womens March where disparate groups are marching for womens rights, including abortion. Where do these women stand on Female Genital Mutilation? Am I being unreasonable to wonder if womens groups are marching in ignorance of the wider agenda or don't they care?

Just because there is an idiot involved doesn't mean that people shouldn't have marched. Snakes slither their way into many dens.

I get it. She shouldn't be involved in organising it if her beliefs are at direct odds with the cause.

I dont really understand why she would want to be involved. Or they would let her be. Maybe they felt it would influence her?

Sharia law says nothing about female genital mutilation

Linda Sarsour once made a provocative tweet suggesting two women don't deserve to be female, saying she wished she could 'take their vaginas away'. Yes, shocking and violent and disgusting. But I've never heard of an instance of fgm that involves taking the vagina away.

She has since said on twitter 'FGM has no place in Detroit or any where else in the world. FGM is barbaric & is NOT an Islamic practice.'

Op, can you please provide some information as to what you see the 'wider agenda' as being? Given that she was one of several organisers, where do the others fit in with this wider agenda? Do you think that Muslim women should not be given a voice within the women's rights community, because some of their beliefs might not tally with some of yours?

A self-confessed rapist had a prominent place at the Women's March. Their criteria for inclusion were really not high.
