How ironic! Starting your thread with "to think that".

You do realise that this is AIBU?
As in..
Am I being unreasonable to think pasta pesto isn't a universal...

I still think it should be "AIBU in thinking that..."

Confused YABU.... to think that we need a new way to start threads.

Only threads in AIBU start like this, because they follow on from the "Am I being unreasonable..." bit.

I only mentioned this because everything in my trending started 'to think that'.......
I was trying to be funny....

Thank goodness Alice. I was starting to think that everyone had had a sense of humour bypass.
Perhaps I should have put 'lighthearted' in the thread title.

Well if you don't like the way other people start their threads maybe you should start your own!

If you want a lighthearted observation to be taken in the spirit in which it was intended, ask an Alice.

I got you too, OP. Maybe I should name change to Alice. Grin

Good grief op, you should have put lighthearted in your thread title, and explained what you meant.

I got it btw, surprised others didn't. Gone are the days of tongue in cheek threads

AIBU to think ... annoys me too because of course you aren't being unreasonable to think whatever the fuck you want Confused

At least it's not the profoundly irritating and illogical "AIBU That my MIL said I was a fat cow?"

At least "AIBU to think that my MIL is an evil witch because she said I was a fat cow" has some basic grammatical integrity - although I grant you it lacks elegance.

I like that there was no lighthearted disclaimer.

I remember days when lighthearted was rarely used and MN was all fields etc etc

DesolateWaist · 13/02/2017 22:29

Anyway, I thought that Alice lived nextdoor.

I don't know about next door, but Alice doesn't live here anymore.

(I also got it, but I'm not an Alice.)
