To think that if this is a thing now, it's gross

DD went to a concert last night, or was it a gig? She came home saying that she was jumping straight into the shower as she was covered in urine. Apparently the male of the species had been urinating into bottles/cups then hurling the piss filled pots towards the stage, soaking those, like my dd, who had managed to get to the front.

Charming hmm

Or am I just old?

That is gross envy

Talk about marking their territory or what?

Dirty boys

Happened years ago at download.
Lethal Bizzle also got covered in Muller Rice.. that was pretty funny though.
The piss not so much !

It's disgusting, but not a new thing sadly. I remember going to gigs back in the 90s and being warned not to get too far forward - at risk of being a 'piss catcher'

Starlyte Sun 12-Feb-17 08:31:03

I don't know, but I never remember anything this gross when I was young.
If it's a sign of the times, I'm glad I'm not young!

HelenaGWells Sun 12-Feb-17 08:31:59

I've heard of it and know other people caught in it. It's been a disgusting thing for years.

Whoami24601 Sun 12-Feb-17 08:32:23

Someone actually weed down my back at a festival a few years ago! Think it was a result of too many beers though, rather than territory marking!

BusterTheBulldog Sun 12-Feb-17 08:33:13

It's been a thing at gigs since the start of time I'm afreaid. But yes, horrid.

ShowOfHands Sun 12-Feb-17 08:33:58

This was happening 20 years ago at various gigs and festivals.

MakingMerry Sun 12-Feb-17 08:34:03

This definitely happened at festivals I went to in the 90s. I thought it started with punk.

ExitPursuedBySpartacus Sun 12-Feb-17 08:35:06

She had a bin bag full of mud land on her head at a festival in the summer. Maybe she is a magnet for such stuff.

So the answer is to stay well back. Or buy a SheWee and join in the 'fun'.

Steve1970 Sun 12-Feb-17 08:43:11

Some weird people would pay good money for that sort of

luckylucky24 Sun 12-Feb-17 08:47:42

Had the same watching Oasis 8 years ago. Not a new thing at all.

cdtaylornats Sun 12-Feb-17 08:52:20

Used to happen at football matches.

A colleague bought one of the home cinema systems to watch football on and with the commentary turned off he said all he needed was his wife screaming abuse at him and a can of piss thrown at the back of his head and it was just like being at the match.

PatMullins Sun 12-Feb-17 08:53:24

Not a new thing unfortunately sad

4men1lady Sun 12-Feb-17 08:53:30

Yep, been to many a gigs and come home piss wet through..shock

roundtable Sun 12-Feb-17 08:53:47

That's why I don't do festivals and standing gigs. I relented about 7 years ago with the promise of vip tickets and that it would be so much nicer. Never again. People stumbling round vomiting and peeing, disgusting toilets and people throwing cups of mystery fluids.

Not my idea of a good time.

TheFirstMrsDV Sun 12-Feb-17 08:57:47

This was happening in the 80s at gigs and festivals.
I saw ACDC last year and I was amazed to see it still happening shock

LoveMyLittleSuperhero Sun 12-Feb-17 08:58:01

Often its just beer and people pretend its piss, sadly though it is sometimes piss and yes utterly gross. It's been going on for ages ridiculously, always always shower when you first walk in from a gig, even if you don't think about the stuff being thrown from the back they're boiling rooms with people crammed in like sardines, imagine all the sweaty possibly unwashed bodies your pressed up against. envy< not envy
That said, still worth it most of the time wink

user1478860582 Sun 12-Feb-17 09:10:36

Well it never happens at the opera.

Shamoffour Sun 12-Feb-17 09:11:47

Yep not a new thing. I remember people doing it at an oasis concert about 15 years ago. It's disgusting.

highlandholiday Sun 12-Feb-17 09:12:29

This is, and has always been a thing. I wear a cagoule at gigs.

morningconstitutional2017 Sun 12-Feb-17 09:12:30

Yes, don't know about this being a thing now as this has sadly been going on for decades, especially at outdoor concerts.
I only go to proper theatres* now on the rare occasion that there is someone to my taste actually touring these days.
*in the hope of grin a better class of clientele.
