Enough is Enough .... Just bought some milk tray, they changed it all not only are my favs missing, but they taste of nothing!

picklemepopcorn Fri 10-Feb-17 14:14:11

Thorntons tastes of nothing too.

The only chocolate I like now is Lidl/aldi, and dairy milk.

Deathraystare Fri 10-Feb-17 19:43:54

Cadbury's isn't it. It is all crap nowadays, sadly.

MerylPeril Fri 10-Feb-17 19:47:22

Is that the one that now has an apple flavoured chocolate ......

These people are scum

BiggerBoatNeeded Fri 10-Feb-17 19:48:57

Yep, the apple crunch was the deal breaker for me. No one makes apple flavoured chocolate for a damned good reason envy

PatMullins Fri 10-Feb-17 19:55:02

Cunts.

TizzyDongue Fri 10-Feb-17 20:01:55

Apple crunch? I'm sorry what?

It sickens me what has become of Cadburys! Sickens me!!! The charlatans!!

<marches around Bournville with a strongly worded placard>

My mum got a box of Milk Tray recently...we were all bitterly disappointed. YANBU!

Violetcharlotte Fri 10-Feb-17 20:07:16

I thoroughly recommend m&s swiss milk chocolate. Bought some today, it was so good I ate 2 bars confused
I've fine right off Cadburys, it's the palm oil that makes it taste so awful.

FarAwayHills Fri 10-Feb-17 20:08:53

I find Twirls are the only things that taste ok.

dontbesillyhenry Fri 10-Feb-17 20:46:00

I'm going to cadburys world Sunday (traitor)

Gingernaut Fri 10-Feb-17 20:50:13

Co-Op does a palm oil free, Fairtrade chocolate?

SKYTVADDICT Fri 10-Feb-17 20:52:40

Dairy Milk not the same anymore either! Really weird truffle type fillings - yuk! And no turkish delight!!shock

PleasantPhesant Fri 10-Feb-17 20:53:17

Hotel Chocolat all the way people.

Thorntons/Nestle/Cadbury's have all gone greedy and trying to fob us off with some shite

TheSecretMrsFairbrother Fri 10-Feb-17 20:56:49

Rolo's have gone to shit too. Waitrose own brand chocolate is nice though and the Aldi/Lidl stuff is lovely.

Feelthesame2 Fri 10-Feb-17 21:03:04

Yeah. They're awful. Cadbury was the only milk chocolate I liked so I'm doubly p***ed off.
Everything's praline now, which I hate.
Fruit and Nut or Crunchie are still just about edible, but I'd rather just throw the rest away.
I was bought Milk Tray for Mothers' Day last year and I ended up chucking it out at Christmas, when I realised only 1 or 2 had been eaten (I tried one more and then remembered why I'd left them). Don't get me started on Roses either. Again, they're mostly praline now and they taste like crap (really awful aftertaste).

Binkybix Fri 10-Feb-17 21:03:38

I thought the same at Christmas. Twirls do still taste good though.

Salumeria Fri 10-Feb-17 21:05:30

<Joins placard wavers>
I agree M&S swiss chocolate, and also Aldi Moser Roth(?) are both lovely. I got given some Merci chocolates for Christmas, they were v nice too, faintly reminiscent of Terry's Neopolitans (whose loss I still mourn).

I was devastated when Roses changed their wrappers to be all the same plastic, vacuum packed shape instead of proper shiny cellophane and foil sweety wrappers with twisty ends. Then I discovered that the chocolates inside are shiter than the wrappers, so I stopped caring so much. I will never buy them again.

And Thorntons, which used to be a bit posh and aspirational, is now the shitest of all <sobs> Stale, oversweet, all the chocolates tasting the same in spite of having different names.

Quality Street are imo still OK, the last of the chocolates of my childhood.

drinkyourmilk Fri 10-Feb-17 21:07:40

I love m&s chocolate, and those cheap shell chocolates.

dontbesillyhenry Fri 10-Feb-17 21:08:30

They really need to bring back spiras

Iamtheresurrection Fri 10-Feb-17 21:10:04

I'm glad someone mentioned rolos being bad - I'd some the other week and thought they tasted funny.

Groovee Fri 10-Feb-17 21:10:12

I love Milk Tray x

Sunnydaysrock Fri 10-Feb-17 21:12:10

Don't get me started on Toblerone angry, the gaps DO make a difference.

ImissTerry Fri 10-Feb-17 21:22:45

The milk tray bastards removed the turkish delight. I will never forgive them.

picklemepopcorn Fri 10-Feb-17 21:26:02

M&S Christmas chocolates were lovely. Swiss truffles I think.
