Colleague leaves chair in the aisle - WIBU to hide it?

We sit in rows in an open plan office, every time the person behind me gets up they push their chair out and leave it in the aisle. They have been asked twice to push it under their desk when they get up but they don't.
WIBU to hide it when they're away from their desk??

Definitely hide it.
Leave a ransom note

Obviously it needs to run away somewhere. Is there a handy photocopying room or cupboard near by? I would passively aggressively put it somewhere like that then just walk back to my desk and say nothing.

Yes do it with a ransom note and report back ASAP.

Just shout "CHAIR!!!" really really really loudly when they get up. 2 or 3 goes should break them of their habit.
If you're feeling kind, pre warn your other colleagues.Grin

Do a note from the chair saying it is tired of the poor treatment and has run away?

Get lots of empty cardboard boxes. When chair colleague is returning, walk towards chair with big pile of boxes in your arms. Do a huge pratfall over the chair (but keep a very straight face) and fling the boxes everywhere so the whole office hears. Pretend your ankle/wrist is sprained and you'll have to go to the doctor and hand over all your work to the colleague, also that Health and Safety will have to do a review of work practices so will need to interview dickhead colleague.

But do all the chairs look the same? Trouble with hiding it is they might just nick somebody else's chair

is it one where you can adjust the height? Just adjust the height down (as far as you can) every time.

do you have something you can chain it to? A bike lock is £1 in poundland and would do the job.

JennyOnAPlate · 10/02/2017 13:48

Chain it to her desk.

You need to chain it to the desk like a bank pen

Is it an adjustable one? Tie the handle in the up position and when they sit down it will go all the way down, and when they get up it will go all the way up. may have done this a couple of times Grin

Kidnap it and keep sending her pictures of it in various locations around the city e.g. skip, city centre cafe, bus station.
