Morrisons delivery at 9:50 has woken the baby!

Just that really! The Morrisons truck has just rolled up outside our house and started loudly unloading our neighbours shopping! The lovely loud banging has woken up my son who is now crying.

What makes it worse is that the sodding woman who lives there doesn't work!!!! So it could have been delivered at any time!

Aibu and a cranky old lady or is it too late for loud deliverys!

yes its cheaper at night so probably why but cactus i think its common sense to think a baby would be in bed at nearly 10pm....

I don't work and I have my shopping delivered between 9 and 10. It's cheaper. I have a baby and the noise doesn't wake him, it isn't that noisy...Maybe this delivery was noisier than usual for some reason.

Mine was at 9pm last night because it was the earliest slot available. I don't think the lovely delivery man made much noise though and my order was massive (I was shocked at how carried away I'd got!)

It's very unfortunate but there are so many reasons why she might be getting a late delivery. Cost, availability of slots, maybe she was out earlier. It's a pain for you and I'm sorry, but you can't really expect her to have an earlier delivery for fear of waking your baby.

We get it late because we work horrible hours. I've been in the office since 8.30am and am only just sitting on a train at London Bridge.

I'm sorry if your dc is tired tomorrow but if we didn't get late food deliveries there are some weeks when we wouldn't have bread or milk.

If your child wakes up easily maybe don't put them to bed at the front of the house? It wasn't that late, and your neighbours aren't responsible for your child's sleep.

I don't think it's too late for deliveries. It isn't always possible to have it delivered during the day due to work/nursery or school run/ appointments and so on.

Why wouldn't you have your shopping delivered late as a neighbour may or may not be sleeping? Your child could be napping any time of day couldn't they

YABU. YOu can't demand that people live around your child's bedtime. I know you want to, I do to, but you can't, it's not reasonable.

You don't get to control absolutely everything in the world. If it wasn't a delivery truck, it could be kids walking down the street laughing, it could be someone taking a bin out, it could be an ambulance. Billions of babies have survived being woken up occasionally.

Perhaps it was the only time she could get a slot.

I don't work but have to have my shopping delivered when someone is here to help me, so that's after 7pm. I live in a quiet street and I don't even know they're out there until they ring the bell.

I'm assuming this is one of those jokey, tongue in cheek posts that I don't usually get because the alternative is that you'd like all traffic/deliveries/ general street and other people's lives noise to be kept within your baby's waking hours.
