Slimming world weekdays only?

I've been thinking of starting slimming world but I absolutely love having a treat at the weekend (think pizza and tub of ice cream.....). Is it reasonable (or unreasonable?!) to think I could do slimming world but still have this kind of a treat on one weekend day? I don't know anything about slimming world really, only the limited info on the website, so I don't know whether it is something you have to stick to religiously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week kind of thing. I could do 5-6 days religiously but I am not up for sacrificing my weekend treat....! Anyone with experience know whether this is a no go or not before I spend money joining? Thanks!

Why would you enter into something yet have no commitment to it? It would be a waste of money and a further waste of two hours a week being evangelised at.

A lot of people will save their syns for the weekend. When me and DP went we used to eat no syns all week then get pissed as you like Friday and Saturday ( which they will tell you not to do but it worked for us)

It is not a strict diet. You are allowed a number of syns and you could save them for the weekend.

Thecolonel - thank you! Gives me hope!

Driving - like I said, I would be committed 5/6 days but I really enjoy one treat a week so no, I wouldn't want to waste my time if it would mean it wouldn't work for me.

Ah, thank you. That makes sense and what I hoping. Think I will give it a go then!

Yes I think so by either
Saving all your syns up ( up to 15 per day )
And/or
Having a speed day or two - this is where you have protein and speed foods / no carbs - usually increase s losses so you cd lose after the weekend ?

You'll need a hell of a lot of syns for a pizza and a tub of ice cream. Can you not have one or the other rather than both?

Korma - good point, I just feel it's is fucking depressing never to have any 'nice' food. I can do pretty healthy all week but all the time... Hell no. I do enjoy food and get a lot of pleasure from eating but I do want to get healthier and eat better, hence thinking about slimming world. I don't have loads of weight to lose and I'm willing to make changes to my eating and diet but for me a life without ever eating pizza / choc / sweets would be seriously dull, hence why I was wondering whether if you followed slimming world carefully all week whether you can still have a treat at the weekend. Maybe I need to go and see what it's like and who knows, if I start maybe I won't want the treat after all (wishful thinking...!)

Eggs - both prob not as bad it is seems as I do homemade pizza, so much smaller than a takeaway and healthier and a tub of ice cream as in like the small ones you get at the theatre not a 500ml ben and jerrys! Although I could def make my way through one of those bad boys.

I think treats are about moderation. I don't think a pizza and then a tub of ice cream is a treat - it's excessive eating. Though maybe I've misunderstood the quantity - I'm picturing a large pizza and a big tub of ice cream.

I know someone who did very well on it but cheated on the weigh in night every week.
Still worked though, and somewhat more realistic too.

Thank everyone, really helpful points. Think I will give it a go and see how I get on, nothing to lose (or maybe some if I keep my paws off the pizza)

My mum used to eat whatever she wanted after her weekly weigh in and also never counted her wine in her points (weight watchers rather than slimming world). She still lost loads of weight, it just probably would have been a bit quicker without the treats.
