Social Media / Hobbies

I don't know if this has been spoken about before, but I wondered if any of you decided to take a break from social media, or if there were any of you that don't use it? Do you have a preference over which is your favourite, or do you like all formats?

I also wanted to ask, what age do you think is appropriate for DC to have social media? Do your DC ever ask or nah at you to let them have an account?

I'm thinking of avoiding it as the people I talk to I text. I don't really post status updates / pictures at all as I can't think of anything to say.

Realistically if you want people to reply to whatever you post, you need to engage with what they're posting. It's a lot of time I could spend doing something more proactive.

I also wondered what kind of hobbies MN'ers have, as we're an eclectic bunch. For example what do you do of an evening, what do you do of a weekend, with/without DC's if you share an interest?

Do you have any weird interests?

I love looking at the brave people who do Urban Exploring, it really looks fun. But I can't cope in the house by myself at night, never mind an abandoned asylum or hospital.

I also really like Humans of New York but that hasn't cropped up in any feeds for ages.

I binned FB in 2010 and along with that went all my so called real life friends. They only communicate via FB and no one would text or call. It made me realise that I didn't actually have real friends just these profiles that I pretended to have a relationship with.

I paint for a hobby which became an earner for me. I took a night class in 2013 and realised I was actually quite good and have been selling ever since.
