Posting for traffic really.
Could I ask your opinion on these wallpapers please?
For a feature wall in an 30 year old single woman's bedroom. I'm wondering if they look childish.

I'll go for the blue but all over.

Feature walls are dead. Dead.

Both gorgeous. I think I'd go for the pink one if I had to make a choice, as. Its more subtle and sophisticated

Agree with the blue but don't see the problem with a feature wall, we have one and love it!

Pink

For me they are rather twee, and I feel like I've seen them a thousand times before. Sorry

Blue.

If you like feature walls, go for it and ignore the nay sayers.

I prefer the gray one but I'm not a fan of pink I'm general. Plus the gray one will go with more furniture/decorations

I prefer the pink

They are both very feminine, I wouldn't do the pink, I'd do the blue one, it will look nice and yes just one wall, otherwise I think it would be too much.

There is nothing wrong with a feature wall if done well.

The bird one is lovely although both nice but the pink one reminds me a little bit of my DDs room. I don't care if feature walls are 'out of fashion'. I have them and like them. I'll continue to decorate my house how I like it, not how so called fashion dictates.

I like the pink but I LOVE the blue one. So pretty.

Must be honest, i'm not keen on either. But the blue I could imagine in an adult's room, if that's your taste...the pink butterfly's seem a bit 'ten year old girl' to me.

I think the intricate design would make it too busy to have on all of the walls so I would stick with the feature wall.

I very nearly had something similar to the blue one. If you want just one wall then go for it. You are the one that has to live with it.

Where is the blue one from ?

Report
Doobigetta · 05/02/2017 21:50

I don't think they're twee, but I think you'd need to stick with quite a clean, simple look for the rest of the room.

Most of my rooms have a feature wall.

I'm not that bothered what other think..it's my sodding house.

Op I prefer the blue one as I'm not really into pink. And the design is slightly bolder but not overpowering, the pink one is a bit less bold.

Thanks for the replies.
The pink one I like but was worried it's like a ten year olds roomConfused
I have a large bedroom and am about to get 2 triple wardrobes put in once I have decorated. I'm not very girly either just fancy something different and grown up as I've shared a room with my DC for 7 years.

Having viewed so many houses with feature walls, i'd avoid like the plague.

There seems to be very few wallpaper manufacturers too, as i've seen the same paper again and again.

Think carefully, especially if you have nice walls (paper stripping can ruin the plaster)- if it comes to redecorating it could be a pita. Or if you're thinking of selling.

I would get this instead.

The pink one is a bit little girls room. Sorry. The blue one would with either a very pale grey on the other walls or a pale duck egg blue.

PurpleDaisies · 05/02/2017 22:17

badgoushk that's beautiful but I think it's about five times the price per roll.

I've seen similar paper on feature walls for a good few years now. I'd go for something more simple and striking/modern and sophisticated

Grey! I love it!

I had a thread recently when I'd done a really subtle feature wall in my bedroom and it honestly looks really nice. I agree that the classic feature wall has been done to death but I think if you keep it subtle it can look nice.
