AIBU to ask for help finding this laundry basket...

...or one that looks very similar but not like it's been dragged through a hedge.

Meet DH's laundry basket. It pre-dates meeting me, our children, all that jazz. His mum bought it for him back in the day, possibly a decade ago, possibly more. It's brown faux leather, can fold down into a little flat circle (although it's always filled with clothes since we had kids... the washing never stops does it? Confused) and is the nicest receptacle for dirty washing either of us has ever known. It's also massive which means no dirty pants on the floor even if we've been lazy and not put a wash on for a while.

It may have been from Ikea or a department store but despite literally years of looking for something similar (and big enough to put a week's worth of family washing in it) I've got nothing.

AIBU to:

  • love this laundry basket so much? (I fear I know the answer to this but in my defence the picture doesn't do it justice)

  • hope someone else recognises where it came from or knows somewhere to buy something similar?

Thanks for any help you can give me (even if that's just a stern talking to for caring too much about random household goods).

You can get similar things from IKEA, and they take a lot of washing....ds has one and brings his dirty washing home from uni in it.

Does your mum not remember where she bought it from? (Apologies if she's not around anymore)

I have a similar one. It was from primark about 10 years ago. It's made of rip stop nylon tho not faux lether.

Sorry, OP, but it's hideous Grin

Open yourself up to the possibility of a better laundry receptacle entering your life. Pinterest will have some lovely ideas.

Chloe84 I love the faux leatherness of it cause it hides in the corner of our room. Although I think I might set up a Pinterest board just to scare DH when he sees it pop up on his notifications ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions, am off to do some Googling!
