I dislike her immensely.

Yes I do. A lot. I don't always agree with her, but I like her style of politics, and find her honest and inspirational. Fundamentally I think that she's a good egg, and not afraid to try to do the right thing. I'm glad that she's in our corner at the moment.

I adore her. I think she's a very able stateswoman and a terrific role model. Pretty shallow of you to be focused on her voice as opposed to what she's actually saying. And her voice isn't annoying anyway.

I love her, she works hard for the things I believe in. She appears to be a clever, thoughtful woman with the best intentions for the Scottish people.

This, am Scottish.

Displaced Scot and can't stand her. She's an embarassement to Scots. She's like an ever bleating totally blinkered one trick pony. Talks total shite. "I'm going to call a referendum". Eh no you're not, only Theresa May can do that. We will stay as part of Europe and are negotiating with Brussels, no we frighten won't, and no you're not, they've already said no. We have to devolve, then apply and meet all the criteria.

Honestly total and utter gibberish.

I can't stand her. Actually that's not true, I admire the way she always stands up for what she believes, its just that I don't share many of those beliefs. I would probably really admire her if it she was anything but SNP. I did warm to her about Brexit. She needs better advice about her appearance, it shouldn't matter but it does. She is better than that toad Salmond who I would not trust as far as I could throw.

I admire her statesmanship and I trust her, she makes a good leader. I don't vote SNP and I voted no in the Indy ref. Times have changed since then and I'm not sure I'd vote no again. My reasons to vote no were largely to stay in the EU which wasn't guaranteed with independence. Look where that got us.

I think NS has strong political principles and knows her mind unlike May who seems to me to be winging it.

Makes me sad when people apply hate to a democratically elected representative. Scary.

Not Scottish but think she's a decent person but won't be able to move on from the loss of the referendum and needs to.

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/02/2017 13:47

Not a fan - she's nice enough on a personal level, surprisingly warm etc. but she really turns it on for the cameras, and I fundamentally don't agree with her constant pushing for indyref 2 when the support just doesn't seem to be there. Focus on running through country well without harping on about it, then people might trust you more.

She's also scared of cats which is always a downer for me!

Can't stand her; deeply annoying, manipulative and delusional woman.

Not a big fan of her. I'm sure people in the central belt will hold her more dearly than those of us in rural areas and northern Scotland do especially after centralising all the emergency call centres. I wish she would concentrate on the day job such as fixing the NHS etc than banging on about Brexit and other diversions to hide her parties failings the constant demands for Indy2 are not doing much to encourage investment in the business sector

Sturgeon is not an mp and has absolutely not been elected by the British people

Eh? She is an MSP and was elected by her constituents.

It seems from this rather goady thread that people like or dislike is based purely on whether or not they agree with her politics.

Report
IrnBruTortie · 03/02/2017 13:59

Eh @Bluntness100 ?
She has been elected, as much as any othe MP, MSP, AM etc...

I really like her. I don't always agree with her politics, but I think she is fab, and a great role model.
I can see nothing wrong with her appearance, voice etc, and tbh her message is far more than just another referendum (although granted, you'd need to look beyond the headlines of the press for a good idea of that).

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 03/02/2017 14:00

She's an MSP though i.e. elected (by the Scottish people) to the Scottish parliament, so she holds an elected office.

Agree or disagree with her politics, but I agree with pp who said dislike applying "hate" to the person.

I'm not Scottish but I like her, nice role model. I don't agree with everything she says but she argues intelligently for things she genuinely believes in.

She will be responsible for the destruction of Scotland. I think she is utterly vile. I totally get that she would love Scotland to be independent. Fair enough. However, it is not in Scotlands interest to be separate. I truly believe we are better together. I live in the South East of England but all of my family are still in Scotland.
