AIBU?

To be annoyed that I couldn't get tickets to see Ed Sheeran

After non-stop refreshing (on three different sites) I still missed out on Ed Sheeran tickets for his London concert. They were sold out within 15 mins!!! What really angered me though, was an hour later the same tickets were being sold by Stub Hut for over £188 each and I've just checked Ticketmaster and tickets are being sold between £2-400. This is outrageous!

Exactly the same scenario for me this morning. 2 of us on 5 devices trying to get tickets. The sites crashed continously. When I got tickets to my basket (once!) it crashed again. I wasted an hour of my life....

I'd booked time off work to go. It was going to be my teenagers first gig too. I love ed, and my son likes him too. We don't get to do anything together, ever! (2 toddlers, single parent!) so this was a lovely idea for something for us to share together.

I'm gutted! I wasn't impressed at the price either. Standard standing/seating was £77, wtf?!!!

Check resale sites nearer the time. The prices of sold-out tickets can vary wildly.

I heard on the radio today that they sold out in 5 minutes. Apparently more dates will be released though. I want to go so badly!

Ditto for john Mayer - friend suggested we go. By 3 mins after opening time, all gone. To rub it in, I got an email from seatwave (ticket master's resale agency) minutes later, offering john Mayer (and ed sheeran!). £115 for the cheapest!!!

Must be some kind of bot or something to buy them so quickly? Fair enough if you genuinely can't go, but concert tickets should not be for opportunistic pricks to make money out of!

Stealth boast. My daughter managed to get 3 at £44 each. Not the best seats but she is delighted as are her friends. Couple hours later I received email from Get Me In offering tickets at £275!!
Think you should have to collect tickets at venue with card used.

Lucky here too, 4 tickets at £44 each and pretty much nearest seats you could ask for. Lots of mum brownie points earned here Smile

I don't even go to things like this but definitely thing more should be done to stop touts, bots and reselling. Yes there are genuine situations where people have tickets to resell, but not minutes after buying them!

Keep checking Twickets. I'm trying to get £44 tickets for my niece but there's been loads of £70 ones listed.

Ugh I hate the music / gig industry now. I used to go to all sorts of concerts in my younger days - big arena gigs as well as smaller venues, and this just wasn't an issue that I remember. The cost, the difficulty getting tickets, it's become a horrible elite playground and I generally don't bother with any concerts that are big venues or big names. A friend recently paid £400 for Eric Clapton. £400!!! I'll go and see a band no one has ever heard of 40 times instead lol

I've said it on hear before but ticket companies are the scum of the earth. They suck the life out of real music and screw the fans backwards. If the music companys actually banned them and used the venue as the sole distributor of tickets then this shit wouldn't happen. Fuckers.

Even the time the go on sale is usually crap, I managed to get my teenagers tickets (1 computer, two phones and three iPads on the go) but only because I was at home. It doesn't help the are sold on the sellers sisters site, nothing is going to change whilst they get double the commission. Ed Sherran's website send emails and VIP slots.
